Oracle APEX - Complete Guide to Dynamic Actions
Dynamic Actions are extremely powerful and flexible for the APEX developer and by understanding their use and how to customise, repurpose and extend; you can quickly master them. Knowing more about Dynamic Actions enables the PL/SQL developer to build functionally rich APEX applications without being a semi-pro at JavaScript.

Creating OAuth2 Protected RESTful Web Services with ORDS and APEX
UKOUG APEX SIG 10th presentation by Colin Archer This demonstration will give an overview of how to create RESTful web services using the ORDS PL/SQL API package, how to protect them using OAuth2.0, and how to use them within an APEX application. In the first part of the demonstration, I will walk you through the steps involved in creating and testing some simple ‘GET’ and ‘POST’ method web services. I will then demonstrate how to protect the web services using roles and privileges, and how grant access using OAuth2.0 and client credentials. In the second part of the demonstration, I will show you how to use the web services inside an APEX application, including the use of client credentials to access ones that have been protected with OAuth2.0

Getting to Grips with Interactive Grid API
Perhaps you’ve created an Interactive Grid or two; perhaps you’ve exhausted all the declarative features and you are itching to branch out in to some more of the advanced features you may have heard about. Learning more about the Interactive Grid API is the way to extend your knowledge about how the Interactive Grid works and perform some fancy tricks. Those new to the API will be wondering what you use the API for, and how do you even start to use it? This hands-on presentation is for developers of all abilities; from those new to Interactive Grid to those wishing to explore the more advanced features. My presentation starts small; with only a handful of lines of code to demonstrate how the configuration is used. I’ll then build up gradually from performing basic feature configuration, through validations and then concluding on row based selection processing - and more. Along the way, I’ll also be sharing some standard Interactive Grid code Explorer use.

APEX & Search
This year, we have been looking into the best way to deliver search capabilities in an APEX application. Customers are used to searching in Google and often want the same functionality in their business application. While we don’t have the resources and years of research that Google have, we can take some ideas from them and develop great search mechanisms in our own applications. The video below is a recording of a presentation we delivered at the APEX SIG in May where we talk about: • What search tools are available natively in APEX. • How we can customise these tools to deliver a much better search. • How we can integrate Oracle Text into our search solution. • How we can integrate an ElasticSearch database with APEX to deliver a fast, full-featured search solution without having to do the hard part.
