The 10 Weirdest Japanese Inventions
These strange and totally bizarre inventions are no other than made in Japan. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Hnoaw3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: The Japanese are famous for their groundbreaking inventions. They’re continually thinking outside the box, which results in the roll out of gadgets we’ve all thought about in the back of our minds. The only difference is, what we think about, they bring to fruition. Sometimes the result is astounding such as the I-Fairy that gives tours of museums; other times the results are, for lack of a better word, totally weird! Strange as they may be, many of their inventions make total sense – it’s just extremely fascinating that the Japanese took it upon themselves to put them on the market. Who would think to actually create umbrella shoes? What about a chin stand you can bring with you on the metro? The Japanese, that’s who. Everyone’s thought about these things, they’re just the only ones who have actually gone ahead and invented them. You have to hand it to them, taking daily hitches and trying to make them better with these inventions is a generous thought. The finished products just turned out to be completely whacky. Check out the 10 weirdest inventions the Japanese have brought into this world. They might even motivate you to get a little bit creative yourself. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheTalko Twitter: https://twitter.com/thetalko Instagram: https://instagram.com/the_talko ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring: Toilet paper to-go The metro sleep accessories The cuddle pillow The daddy nurser The never-ending bubble wrap The chopstick fan Noodle eater hair guard Shoe umbrellas Silent karaoke Audio enhancer ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.thetalko.com/ TheTalko is everything you ever wanted to know about fashion, celebrity lifestyle, fitness, health, relationships and the most interesting random occurrences in 5 minutes or less. How This Town Produces No Trash
Watch the next episode about Lauren Singer, who produced only a jar's worth of trash in 2 years: http://bit.ly/1QsnSqu Subscribe! https://www.youtube.com/c/seekerstories?sub_confirmation=1 In 2003, the local government in Kamikatsu, Japan decided to require that all residents comply with a new, rigorous recycling program - perhaps the most rigorous in the world. Since then, the town composts, recycles, or reuses 80% of its garbage. It may not technically be 100% zero waste, as the remaining 20% goes into the landfill, but it's a remarkable achievement for an entire community, in such a short amount of time. The impacts have been positive - cutting costs for the community drastically, as well as improving the conditions of the lush and beautiful environment that surrounds the town in Southeast Japan. Residents must wash and sort virtually anything that is non-compostable in their household before bringing it to the recycling sorting center. Shampoo bottles, caps, cans, razors, styrofoam meat trays, water bottles...the list goes on and on (literally) into 34 categories. At the sorting center, labels on each bin indicate the recycling process for that specific item - how it will be recycled, what it will become, and how much that process can cost (or even earn). It's an education process for the consumer. All kitchen scraps must be composted at home, as the town has no garbage trucks or collectors. And as for other items, reuse is heavily encouraged. According to Akira Sakano, Deputy Chief Officer at Zero Waste Academy in Kamikatsu, the town has a kuru-kuru shop where residents can bring in used items and take things home for free. There is also a kuru-kuru factory, where local women make bags and clothes out of discarded items. At first, it was difficult to be come accustomed to the new rules. "It can be a pain, and at first we were opposed to the idea," says resident, Hatsue Katayama. "If you get used to it, it becomes normal." Now, it's even being noticed within Kamikatsu's businesses. The first zero-waste brewery has opened in Kamikatsu, called Rise and Win Brewery. The brewery itself is constructed of reused materials and environmentally friendly finishes. By 2020, Kamikatsu hopes to be 100% zero waste, with no use of landfills, and to forge connections with other like-minded communities in the world, spreading the practice of zero-waste. To help, each day she'll use a different nap gadget marketed towards employees looking sleep at their desks, including the Wrap-a-Nap, The Nap Emergency Kit, and the famous Ostrich Pillow. India Is Catching Up Fast With The West In Information Technology Innovation - Japanese Media Report
India was long seen as an outsourcing destination for companies in Europe and the United States. But the country is starting to transform itself. Its IT industry is blossoming into a global innovation hub. NHK WORLD's Neha Gupta has the details. An IT event was held in Bangalore in October. 120 companies took part-- all of them start-ups. Users of this application can chat with restaurants, make reservations, and place orders on the spot. A variety of items are displayed from several fashion websites. Users can pick things they like and see how they look when they are put together. One entrepreneur says he has been busy trying to boost growth through marketing and PR. His company has grown more than 20% in the past 3 months. India achieved rapid economic growth as an ideal outsourcing destination. But its IT industry is starting to prosper. Young people who studied computer programming at university have gained experience working for overseas firms, and they've returned to India, armed with their new skills. Mu Sigma, a company specializing in big data, employs 3,500 engineers. It has developed artificial intelligence that can support sales and purchases of stocks and foreign currencies. The program can analyze investment data in a split second and pick stocks to buy or sell. It allows diversified investment very quickly. Mu Sigma has also created a service that could revolutionize marketing. It uses cameras to capture customers' faces up close when they look at products. Software is used to analyze the images and measure changes in customers' body temperatures. An increase indicates the customer's interest. Such information is crucial when developing new products and planning advertising. The company's products are attracting the attention of businesses across the world. Visitors are eager to learn more about them. An official from a Japanese IT company was impressed by the development team and their freewheeling thinking. He said Indian technology is catching up with that of developed nations. Mu Sigma Chief Executive Officer Dhiraj C. Rajaram says Bangalore is the next Silicon Valley. He says the success of his company and others in the field are boosting the city's innovation level. With its creative, highly-skilled workers, it looks like India has a bright future ahead as a technology hub that can bring sweeping innovation to the world. Contemporary Japanese Design Project 2014-15 PV
Japan: Tradition and Innovation. Japan. The long passage of time has made for a unique history and culture here. Spring, summer, fall, winter, all transition distinctly; a culture of craftsmanship continuing for hundreds of years amongst this rich natural beauty. Japan. Bleeding-edge technology is born here. Innovation in the industries of electronics, automobiles, and robotics make Japan a world leader. In the Metropolis of Tokyo, it is unbelievably advanced. Be it from the automated features of the city; the latest fashions, creations, and technologies; or pop culture including manga, one one cannot help but be filled with excitement and surprise. In the ancient capital of Kyoto, surrounded by an amazing atmosphere that makes palpable tradition and culture, one finds himself moved. Hospitality; the face of the city that changes with the seasons; the beauty of a traditional cityscape centered around temples and shrines; and traditional arts, entertainment, and spirituality are all born of a seemingly eternal history. The coexistence of tradition and innovation is one of Japan’s unique points. It could be said that it forms Japan’s identity. The Contemporary Japanese Design Project. We want to merge Japanese tradition and innovation and make more global and exciting creations. The Contemporary Japanese Design Project (CJD-P) was begun with this concept in mind. We gathered 15 companies; manufacturers and craftsmen with excellent proprietary techniques from various places around Japan. We built a wide network of experienced advisors and distributors from France, Germany, and China. We married producers with six German and French designers, all overflowing with talent. Under the conceptual banner of “tradition is continuing innovation,” the CJD-P started in 2014 as an international project with the support of the Japanese government (SME Support, Japan). Japanese craftsmen and manufacturers and the international advisors and designers all met in Japan and shared a variety of experiences and emotions. In February of 2015, after a full year of hard effort, the crystallization of this creative work will be unveiled in the worlds largest trade fair, Frankfurt Ambiente. We will introduce beautifully innovative and functional products, the likes of which have never been seen before. Please have a look at the creativity and sure skill of the CJD-P Team.

Japanese/Nat Japans largest combustible waste incinerator is also at the forefront of Tokyo's efforts to create a greener city. The incinerator, built on reclaimed land, creates enough heat energy to provide the plant's own electricity, heating, air conditioning and hot water. These by-products are also channelled to public facilities, like the Yumenoshima Tropical Plant Dome - a showcase of the potential of harnessing heat energy. Waste management and recycling have long been problems for most, if not all, of the world's cities. Now the Tokyo metropolitan government is leading the way to solve at least some of these problems. Japan built its largest waste incinerator here on Yumenoshima (or "Dream Island") - a waste landfill site in the Tokyo Bay area. Almost two thousand tonnes of combustible waste are fed into this Tokyo incinerator every day, around the clock. This is one of 14 similar plants throughout the Japanese capital, designed to cope with the growing waste disposal problem. The waste needs to be sorted into combustibles and incombustibles. Waste products such as plastics, rubber and leather generate harmful gases and are taken to landfill sites instead. The rest is burnt. The scorching temperatures inside the furnace generates the energy necessary to drive steam turbines which in turn produce electricity and heat. This method is at the forefront of Japan's drive to create a cleaner environment. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) "About 18-thousand tonnes of garbage is brought here everyday, here at this plant we can boil 150 tonnes of water per hour (to make steam)". SUPER CAPTION: Mitsui Morimoto - Chief engineer of Koto Incineration Plant What makes these plants environment-friendly is their effective use of recovered heat energy. One of the beneficiaries is the local community, which gets free hot water, air conditioning and electricity in public facilities such as gyms and community centres. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese ) "Around incineration plants there are various public facilities such as public apartment compounds, swimming pools and glasshouses to which we supply heat energy." SUPER CAPTION: Mitsui Morimoto - Chief engineer of Koto Incineration Plant One such facility benefiting from the harnessing of the heat and vapour produced during the incineration is the Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome. The glass house receives the hot water and vapour via a highway of pipes connecting it with the incinerator. The greenhouse was built modelling itself on a tropical rain forest, which has high temperatures and high rainfall throughout the year. The hot-house is home to over 800 varieties of tropical plants, some of which come from the rain forests of South East Asia, the Amazon Valley and the Zaire Valley in Africa. As far as keeping the temperature high and humid, the Koto vapour is a success. The only problem the greenhouse has is receiving enough light. The continued growth under artificial conditions serves not only as a technological feat but as an educational centre. It provides a living teaching ground for people to become more aware of environmental issues and at the same time about the world in which they live. To create and maintain such a fragile environment takes commitment - not only from the Tokyo metropolitan government. The funding and resourcing of such projects is not cheap. The construction of this project cost 26 (m) million US dollar. The underlying theme of this beauty is the recycling of waste. SOUNDBITE: (Japanese) SUPER CAPTION: Emiko Nakazawa - Head Gardner Yumenoshima With operations like these, the fragile link between man and the environment is getting stronger. Japan introduces new products to target global market for electronics, apparels and healthcare
Tokyo, July 21 (ANI): Be it electronics, apparels or pharmaceuticals - the demand of these lifestyle products are growing worldwide. The Japanese companies are now gearing up to tap the potential by introducing new products. At the Live Entertainment and Event Expo in Tokyo, Audio Visual Communications Ltd. (AVC) showcased 4K ultra high definition LED system. They combine 432 small units to make a 428-inch big screen. It requires great expertise to put together all units and make one big plain screen. Apparel manufacturing companies are also using cutting edge technology. RUB-LAB Inc. has introduced logo printing technique on T-shirts called Augmented Reality. Japan is also introducing many new healthcare products. At the recently held Interphex Japan exhibition, AandD Company Limited introduced Electronic Pipettes which assures accuracy at all times and minimizes stress. With this electronic pipette, it is possible to control the plunger by lightly pressing a key with the ball of the forefinger (like pulling a trigger), while maintaining all fingers in a natural, effortless grip. Panasonic offers special freezers to contain medicinal chemicals or other materials. The product attracted many visitors because it's CFC-free and eco-friendly for professional use. It is the first freezer that realises CFC-free and ultra low temperature of -80 degree.
