Amazing!! Where the Baltic and North Seas meet all about this channel in here https://goo.gl/D1zMrA In the resort town of Skagen you can watch an amazing natural phenomenon. This city is the northernmost point of Denmark, where the Baltic and North Seas meet. The two opposing tides in this place can not merge because they have different densities. The province of Skagen located in Denmark has witnessed the beauty of the convergence of the two seas. It is characterized by a clear line which separates the two water and shows a magnificent display of natural beauty. Also mentioned in holy Koran, this sea meet is due to the difference in density of both sea waters which appear as adividing line on the ocean. There is a clear difference in the color of the waters coming from two different seas. At the headland at Grenen, the northernmost point of Denmark, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea meet. Because of their different densities, a clear dividing line can be seen. As a result of turbulent seas, beachings and shipwrecks were common. These frequent losses combined with the town's strategic location as the gateway to the Baltic led to Skagen being the site of one of Denmark's earliest lighthouses.

The baltic sea anomaly | UFO at the bottom of the sea. The Baltic Sea anomaly is a 60-metre diameter circular rock-like formation on the floor of the northern Baltic Sea. It was discovered by Peter Lindberg, Dennis Åsberg and their Swedish "Ocean X" diving team in June 2011. To date, we have explored less than five percent of the ocean. The ocean is the lifeblood of Earth, covering more than 70 percent of the planet's surface, driving weather, regulating temperature, and ultimately supporting all living organisms. Studies suggests there are as many as eight undiscovered whale and dolphin species, 10 undescribed marine reptiles, and thousands of sponges, crustaceans, algae, plants, and other species still to be found. The average depth of the ocean is about 12,100 feet. The deepest part of the ocean is called the Challenger Deep and is located beneath the western Pacific Ocean in the southern end of the Mariana Trench, Challenger Deep is approximately 36,200 feet deep. So with this knowledge we should keep an open mind about what could be laying at the bottom of the sea.

baltic seas and north seas meet underwater This is an urban legend. The picture shown is not the Baltic Sea and North Sea, and the border shown is not due to salinity gradient. The picture is from Alaska, showing where dirty glacial meltwater was flowing into the open ocean. It's a temporary phenomenon caused by sediment washed into the ocean -- microorganisms thrive on the nutrients. The color is not due salinity. There is no such border between the North Sea and Baltic Sea. It's an urban legend spread by Reddit. Waters of different salinity levels will mix quite easily when exposed to disturbances from wind, waves, and current. Salinity separation phenomena like haloclines are only stable in low-energy systems like caves or when constantly regenerated by persistent effects like surface evaporation. In either case, the halocline is a horizontal boundary (eg gravity puts the lighter fluid on top), not a vertical line like is shown in the picture.

Winter 2017, Bay of Bothnia, Baltic sea. Arrival to ice covered area. Meeting icebreakers Oden and Polaris. During mild winters like this one, the south westerly winds tend to pack the ice to the most northern part of Bay of Bothnia. Therefore areas around Kemi 1 lighthouse are very difficult to penetrate even for the strongest ships without icebreaker assistance. Usually Ice class 1A or higher (Finnish/Swedish) or equalent is required for entering the areas. Ice thickness of 70-100cm is common. Packed ice and ridges may result in ice thickness of several meters in some places. Several icebreakers operate in these areas and ships are guided to predefined routes for possible later assistance. Check out Polaris making "summer conditions" for the assisted vessel in the video!

Murmansk, the metropolis on the Barents Sea, is anything but Russia's cold north. There's always something going on here, for example the Olympic Polar Games. Ice surfing and ice swimming, reindeer racing, the first atom ice breaker in the history of the world, a corner shop in ice and snow, endearing village school lessons and the singing Norwegian Sea Fleet - arctic lifestyle far away, north of the polar circle.

Soon after delivery, Eduard Toll (Icebreaker LNG Carrier) made its way to complete both its first loading at Sabetta Terminal Russia and first discharge in Montoir, France. This marked a major milestone for shipping in the arctic as this was the first time a shipping vessel made independent passage, without the support of an ice breaker, during this time of year. Complete series: https://rtd.rt.com/films/the-baltic-fleet/ Step on board a corvette warship and take a deep sea submarine dive with Russia's famous Baltic Fleet. These two Russian Navy vessels are facing off against each other in a tense competition to win in a military exercise. Pick your side! Russian Navy fleet corvette Soobrazitelny gets a new commander, captain lieutenant Aleksandr Slonov. Immediately, there are tensions between him and one of the ship’s junior lieutenants, Leonid Karakash. However, Slonov is determined to make Karakash change his ways. Meanwhile, the rest of the corvette’s crew begins preparation for a military exercise. They are to compete against the Magnitogorsk submarine under the command of Vladimir Nagornov and his crew. They only have 20 days to properly prepare. But first, the corvette’s new sailors must be initiated. Russia’s Baltic Fleet was formed in 1703 under Peter the Great and is the oldest formation in the Russian Navy. Throughout its history, it has fought in many military conflicts, defending its country’s borders and perfecting its battle techniques. Today it boasts the most modern vessels, formidable weaponry and experienced seamen the Russian Navy has to offer. Meet the crews of two of its vessels, the corvette Soobrazitelny and the submarine Magnitogorsk, to learn more about life in the Baltic Fleet. Joining the crew of Magnitogorsk, commanded by Captain Vladimir Nagornov, you'll find out about the procedures required for diving and surfacing, as well as certain superstitions shared by those on board. You'll also learn about the jobs required to keep the boat operational, how a submarine locates its targets covertly and discover more about the torpedoes it carries. Aleksandr Slonov, Commander of Soobrazitelny, and his crew will take you along to a military parade, give you a guided tour of the ship and explain how the corvette's missiles are launched. With marines joining its ranks, you'll get the opportunity to accompany them to an armoured vehicle test track, where you can pick up some tips about how to handle these impressively versatile vehicles. In the end, the two crews will engage in a competition to determine which of them is the best-prepared and most skilled in military combat. Pick your side and may the best team win. Russian navy warships shadow & intercept two US navy destroyers entered Baltic Sea - Russian warships have been deployed to shadow two U.S. Navy destroyers operating in the Baltic Sea, it has been reported. Two Russian corvettes, the Boykiy and Soobrazitelny, of the Baltic Fleet have been escorting the USS Porter and USS Gravely, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Last week the USS Gravely, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, was spotted passing through the Danish straits and approaching the Baltic sea, according to the Daily Star. A picture showing the destroyer pulling into Copenhagen, Denmark, was tweeted by the U.S. Navy, who said the ship was there "for a scheduled port visit." Today USS Gravely entered the Baltic Sea alongside the USS Porter under escort by Russia, whose Kaliningrad enclave hosts its main naval base in the region, Baltiysk. "The forces of the Baltic Fleet took Gravely and Porter, the destroyers of the U.S. Navy that entered the southern part of the Baltic Sea, under escort. Russian Navy corvettes Boiky and Soobrazitelny are monitoring the actions of the U.S. ships," the Russian National Defence Management Centre said Monday. Capable of carrying up to 56 Tomahawk missiles, the destroyers are the latest U.S. Navy warships to sail near Russia's territorial waters in an apparent show of force. The U.S. military and NATO allies have stepped up their presence in northern and eastern Europe, deploying troops, aircraft and warships to those areas, and in turn, heightening tensions with Russia. Meanwhile in the Black Sea, U.S. guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook is being monitored closely by Russian warships after arriving in the region over the weekend. The Baltic Sea Anomaly | The Unsolved Mystery (OCEAN X) Baltic Sea Anomaly The Baltic Sea Anomaly located in the northern Baltic sea hence the name which looks parallel to a star wars Jedi millennium falcon, was accidentally discovered by a group of Swedish divers who went by the name ocean x in 2011 which shocked the world due to its recognizable shape, many there are conspiracy theorist that claim it was a ufo, or an ancient artifact from the angels above, or decaying sculptures created by the Illuminati with intervention to fool the divers as if this was an inside job. Most human creatures believe that this shape is too coincidental to be a creation by nature implying that this was a created by somebody. Some believe it could be proof of Atlantis. But it could also be created by nature. The Baltic Sea anomaly still hasn't had an official named as of 2018. Guest Speaker: Jonathan Adams Head, Department of Archaeology, University of Southampton Introductory remarks: Calit2 division director Ramesh Rao; Jules Jaffe of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography; and CISA3 associate director Tom Levy. DESCRIPTION/ABSTRACT: The low salinity of the Baltic inhibits those organisms that live on and degrade organic materials, particularly wood. This means that wooden shipwrecks survive in far better states of preservation than in other seas. This lecture reviews the history of northern Europe through three thousand years of shipwrecks, bog finds and rock art and suggests that major episodes of innovation and change in shipbuilding manifest similarly profound changes in society. SPEAKER BIO: Jonathan Adams is a specialist in maritime archaeology, with interests in ships as manifestations of innovation and social change, and in the practice of archaeology in the coastal zone and under water, particularly the ethics of the developing field of deepwater archaeology.

White Sea – Baltic Canal, Russia 4K The White Sea–Baltic Canal often abbreviated to White Sea Canal (Belomorkanal) is a ship canal in Russia opened on 2 August 1933. It connects the White Sea, in the Arctic Ocean, with Lake Onega, which is further connected to the Baltic Sea. Until 1961, its original name was the Stalin White Sea–Baltic Canal (Belomorsko–Baltiyskiy Kanal imeni Stalina). The canal was constructed by forced labor of gulag inmates. During its construction by a total of 126,000 workers, about 12,000 died, according to the official records. The canal runs partially along several canalized rivers and Lake Vygozero. The total length of the route is 227 kilometers (141 mi). As of 2008, the canal sees only light traffic, carrying between ten and forty boats per day. Its economic advantages are limited by its minimal depth of 3.5 m (11.5 ft), inadequate for most sea-going vessels. The canal was originally proposed to be 5.4 m (17.7 ft) deep; however, various cost issues forced completion to a much lesser depth. This depth typically corresponds to river craft with deadweight cargo up to 600t, whilst useful sea going vessels of 2,000–3,000 dwt typically have drafts of 4.5–6 m (15–20 ft) Waterway ==================== The total waterway length is 227 kilometers (141 mi), of which 48 kilometers (30 mi) are man-made. The current flows north from Lake Onega to the White Sea, and all navigation marks are set according to it. Once in Lake Onega, ships can exit the southwest shore through the Svir River (and its two locks) to reach Lake Ladoga and then proceed down the Neva River to Saint Petersburg and the Baltic Sea. Alternatively, from Lake Onega river ships can sail eastward into the Volga–Baltic Waterway. Canal route ========== The canal begins near Povenets settlement in Povenets bay of Lake Onega. After Povenets there are seven locks close together, forming the "Stairs of Povenets". These locks are the southern slope of the canal. The canal summit pond at 103 meters elevation is 22 kilometers (14 mi) long between locks 7 & 8. The northern slope has twelve locks numbered 8–19. The route of the northern slope runs through five large lakes; Lake Matkozero between locks 8 & 9, Lake Vygozero between locks 9 & 10, Lake Palagorka between locks 10 & 11, Lake Voitskoye between locks 11 & 12 and Lake Matkozhnya between locks 13 & 14. The canal empties out into the Soroka Bay of the White Sea at Belomorsk. The settlements of Povenets, Segezha, Nadvoitsy, Sosnovets, and Belomorsk are located along the canal. Sailing conditions =============== Minimum lock dimensions are 14.3 meters (47 ft) wide by 135 meters (443 ft) long. The navigable channel is 36 meters (118 ft) wide and 3.5 meters (11.5 ft) deep, with a radius of curvature of 500 meters (1,640 ft). Speed is limited to 8 kilometers per hour (4.3 kn; 5.0 mph) in all artificial portions. In conditions of low visibility (defined as less than one kilometer) navigation is halted. For the navigation seasons of 2008 to 2010, the canal locks were scheduled to operate from 20 May each year until 15–30 October, giving 148–163 navigation days per year. The canal and Russian writers ============================ A carefully prepared visit in August 1933 to the White Sea–Baltic Canal may have hidden the worst of the brutality from a group of 120 Russian writers and artists, the so-called Writers Brigade, including Maxim Gorky, Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy, Viktor Shklovsky, and Mikhail Zoshchenko, who compiled a work in praise of the project, the 600-page Stalin White Sea–Baltic Canal, published at the end of 1934. Shklovsky visited Belomorkanal on his own and did not travel there with the group organized by Gorky. Gorky himself did not travel with the Brigade but instead organized the trip. Gorky had previously visited the Solovetski Islands labor camp in 1929 and wrote about it in the Soviet journal Our Accomplishments. Additionally, it is doubtful that all of the writers involved in the project were unaware of the brutality or actual living conditions present in the camp. In fact, one of the contributors, Sergei Alymov, was a prisoner at the Belomor camp and was the editor for the camp newspaper Perekovka, ("Re-forging"). Similarly, Aleksandr Avdeenko's account of the trip to Belomor includes conversations between OGPU chief Semyon Firin and Prince Mirsky that reveal at least some of the writers were aware of the true nature of Belomor.
