JavaScript DOM Tutorial - Element.insertAdjacentElement()

07:27
Similar to both the appendChild() and insertBefore() methods, the insertAdjacentElement() method within the JavaScript Document Object Model lets you insert an HTML Element relative (or adjacently) to another HTML Element. This particular method can provide you a lot of flexibility when inserting an element due to its four possible positions of insertion: beforebegin, afterbegin, beforeend and afterend. In this video I take you through a visual example of how exactly this method works - it's quite straightforward and I hope you can make use of it in your next web project! jQuery add event handler to dynamically created element

09:15
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/04/jquery-add-event-handler-to-dynamically.html In this video we will discuss, how to add event handlers to dynamically created elements. Let us understand this with an example. The following example, allows us to dynamically create new list item (li), attach a click event handler and add it to the unordered list (ul). This happens when you click "Add a New List Item" button. The problem with this approach is that we are binding a click event handler to every list item. This means if you have 500 list items, then there will be 500 event handlers in the memory and this may negatively affect the performance of your application. <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('li').on('click', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('#btnAdd').on('click', function () { var newListItem = $('<li>New List Item</li>').on('click', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('ul').append(newListItem); }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <input id="btnAdd" type="button" value="Add a New List Item" /> <ul> <li>List Item</li> <li>List Item</li> </ul> </body> </html> A better way of doing the same from a performance standpoint is shown below. In this example, the click event handler is attached to the listitem (li) parent element (ul). Even if you have 500 list items, there is only one click event handler in memory. So how does this work 1. When you click on a list item (li), the event gets bubbled up to its parent (ul) as the list item (li) does not have an event handler 2. The bubbled event is handled by the the parent (ul) element, as it has a click event handler. 3. When a new list item is added dynamicaly, you don't have to add the click event handler to it. Since the newly created list item (li) is added to the same parent element (ul), the click event of this list item also gets bubbled upto the same parent and will be handled by it. <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('ul').on('click', 'li', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('#btnAdd').on('click', function () { $('ul').append('<li>New List Item</li>'); }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <input id="btnAdd" type="button" value="Add a New List Item" /> <ul> <li>List Item</li> <li>List Item</li> </ul> </body> </html>

What is the querySelector method in JavaScript? | Document.querySelector() Explained

06:41
In JavaScript, the 'querySelectorAll' method allows you to retrieve a list of Elements that match the CSS Selector that you specify. Essentially, it is a way of finding Elements in JavaScript. It's quitee flexible and lets you search for tags, classes, IDs, parent/child combinations, attributes and so on. In this video I show you a clear and simple example of how it works on the 'document' object as well as another Parent Node - to only search within that parent. index2.html Solution by Top Codes

00:09
https://goo.gl/drzWEJ Consider the following code fragments for index2.html html head titleQuestion 2 /title script src="question2.js" type="text/javascript" /script /head body div class="funky" /div /body /html and for question2.js var RWS = 5; var COLS = 5; function golow() { var out = document.getElementsByClassName("funky"); var table = document.createElement("table"); table.border = 1; for (var i; i ROWS; i += 1) { var row = document.createElement("row"); for (var j; j COLS; j += 2) { var col = document.createElement("col"); col[removed] = String(i) + String(j); if (j / 2 == 0) { col.style.fontFamily="sans serif"; } if (j / 3 == 21) { col.style.color = "aquamrine"; } } table.appendChild(row); } out.appendChild(table); } window.onload = go Cut and paste the above code into your virtual box. There are a number of errors in the files you have been provided(question2.html, question2.js). Your task is to debug and correct these errors so that the html page produces the desired ouput. You should not try to rewrite all the code. The goal is to make as few changes as possible. The html file should not be changed. The javascript file should 1) call the function go when the page loads. 2) the function go programatically adds a table inside the div with class "funky". 3) the table should have 15 rows and 15 columns. 4) the cells of the table should contain the text "A __ a" where A is a capital letter. of the alphabet indexed by the row number and a is a lower case letter of the alphabet indexed by the column number. 5) every odd should use bold text. 6) every even column should use sansserif font. 7) every column number divisible by 3 should use the text colour aquama
