10 STRANGE Deep Sea Photos Explained

08:39
From a suicide squid squad, to the eery findings deep under the Australian Great Barrier Reef, these are 10 STRANGE Deep Sea Photos Explained Under the Reef Let’s head back to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef for this one … actually, we’re heading under the Reef. Researchers came away with some incredible pictures of deep sea creatures when high-tech cameras were able to examine environments some 1500 meters (nearly 5000 feet) below the surface. Scary-looking deep-sea anglerfish, swarms of crustaceans and deep sea jellyfish Atolla were among the many strange forms of ocean life found over the course of the 10 day research project. When this bizarre looking deep sea creature washed up on a New Zealand beach earlier in 2016, people didn’t know what to make of it. The 13-foot animal’s disturbing, black dinner-plate-sized eyes and humped back gave a few tourists a shock … but some maintained their composure long enough to take a picture of the creature … or with the creature! While the sea creature may have unusual looks, it’s not exactly an unusual creature. It’s a bigeye thresher shark, known to hunt offshore, but are rarely observed close to beaches. The animals use their long tail to stun prey, but aren’t considered a threat to humans. There are three species of thresher shark, and all have been listed as ‘vulnerable to extinction’ since 2007. Acorn Worm -- A six-week research project in 2010 set out to investigate marine life forms along the mid-Atlantic ridge … it’s a sub-polar front where warm waters from the south meets cold waters from the Gulf Stream. The exploration yielded a vast array of sea life and many potential new species. This Acorn Worm (aka Enteropneust Hemichordate anter-ope-nee-ist (heem-mah-chore-date) was photographed with a Remote Operated Vehicle, which located the creature using its adhesive tentacles to attach itself to the seafloor. The picture by David Shale almost looks like the worm could be a flower blossoming from its stem underwater. Acorn Worms are invertebrates that can survive at depths of 10,000 feet below the ocean surface. Deep Sea Anemone -- Does it look like a trap is waiting to be sprung … like if you get too close to the center of this thing, those tentacles will suddenly rise up and imprison you? You’re not far wrong. Say hello to the sea anemone … an invertebrate carnivore named after the terrestrial anemone flower, due to the perceived resemblance. They spend most of their time attached to rocks on the seafloor. They’ll also attach themselves to coral reefs waiting for fish to pass by. Those tentacles are actually filled with venom, which will paralyze prey the anemone ensnares. While most anemones are harmless to humans, certain highly toxic species are potentially lethal. Did you know that depending on the species, sea anemones can live more than 50 years? Big Red -- Bet you wouldn't guess this is a jellyfish. This relatively new species was discovered in the Pacific Ocean in 2003 … but was first spotted 10 years earlier. Only 23 members of this species have been found, with only a very small specimen acquired for study. The creatures are known to grow up to 30 inches in diameter and live at ocean depths of nearly 5000 feet. Because they live at such extreme depths, remote operated submarines were used to take pictures and high-resolution videos of the creatures. What really makes them distinct from other species of jellyfish is the lack of long tentacles … this creature has four-to-seven thick, fleshy arms it uses to capture food and eat. While scientists know the jellyfish is red all over, it could take awhile before researchers can uncover more information pertaining to the animal's food, predators, reproduction and so on. Here’s a fun fact … researchers were originally going to call the animal “Big Ugly” … but it was renamed “Gran rojo” … Spanish for Big Red. Think this picture of a Beluga whale looks strange? He sounded even stranger. This is Noc, a whale that could actually mimic human speech. His voice was so human-like that it often fooled divers … and made researchers believe the marine mammal was trying to make contact with his human friends. It’s thought that Noc began making human-like sounds after hearing divers using their communication equipment underwater. After hearing Noc, scientists at the National Marine Mammal Foundation in San Diego tried to pick up more voices by building a special underwater listening platform. While Noc could be heard on the mic, the other two older whales who lived with him didn’t seem as eager to communicate. Sorry to say that after 30 years at the national Marine Mammal Foundation, Noc passed away in 2007. Mariana Trench | The Deepest & Most Unexplored Place On The Planet

09:00
Subscribe for a new video every week! ►► http://goo.gl/lYWszy ____________________________________________________________________ The Mariana Trench is located near the Mariana Islands in the Western Pacific Ocean and is labelled as the deepest section in the earth's seabed, stretching approximately 2,550 kilometres (1,580 mi) long and has an average width of around 69 kilometres (43 mi). There have only been two manned descents to the very bottom nearly 7 miles deep of pure darkness. Not only is it a fascinating place and wonder of the planet, but it's also shrouded in mystery. Since so few have been down there, and only a hand full of cameras have recorded the bottom, what creatures live at the bottom is one of life's mysterious. Sit back and enjoy this short documentary of the Marian Trench in all its glory and mystery. ____________________________________________________________________ Don't forget to follow TOP5s on Social Media to keep up with upcoming videos and information! :) Twitter - https://twitter.com/TheTop5s Facebook - https://en-gb.facebook.com/TheOfficialTop5s/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thetop5sofficial/?hl=en Also, check out the new Top5s website to read or even write your own interesting articles! 20 Scariest Ocean Photos

07:59
Here are the top 20 most terrifying pictures of giant ocean creatures, insane diving places and mysterious deep sea animals. Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 10. Spooky Sub There are a lot of creepy animals at the bottom of our ocean, no doubt. But there’s also a lot of spooky abandoned ships and submarines out there left by man as well. Here in this photo, a scuba diver is investigating a sunken submarine. These can certainly be spooky because you don’t always know the story of why and how the ship sunk, if there was people inside when it sunk and what spirits could be lurking inside. 9. Sunken Yacht The ocean certainly doesn’t care if you’re trying to get to Antarctica on your yacht! Fierce ocean storms have been known to decimate ships sailing the seven seas. A rich Brazilian man had the courage to take his yacht to this mysterious continent in order to make a documentary but as you can see, he failed epically. He might have made a cool documentary about his yacht sinking however but it certainly cost him more than he was hoping. Luckily, him and his crew survived the ordeal. 8. The Horror! What on earth could this thing possibly be! Is it the mouth of some giant, mysterious sea creature that’s getting ready. If this thing came near you, you could only pray your end will come quickly! Actually, it turns out to be the bow of a giant ship that has been infested with barnacles! Dang ocean, you scary! 7. Truk Lagoon The Truk Lagoon is a sheltered body of water in the central pacific located about 750 miles north of Papua New Guinea. During World War II, it was Japan’s main base in this region. And there’s something quite eery about this place. It was even explored by Jacques Cousteau. Ghostly remains like of this light tank here at about 150 feet depth, attract many scuba divers. 6. Underwater Bomber From the outside, the Truc Lagoon might look like a tropical paradise, teeming with beautiful jungles and crystal clear waters, is actually a graveyard for Japanese warships and planes. This photo here depicts a Mitsubishi Bomber that was shot down by American a nti aircraft weaponry and sits at the bottom of the pacific ocean at about 65 feet depth. If creepy scuba diving is one of your hobbies, this might be the best place to go. 5. Scuba Screams What other creepy things could possibly be lurking the oceans? By now you probably don’t think it could get any scarier. Well how about a clownfish?! Scuba divers are on constant alert for this sea monster and sightings of them recently have gone through the roof! Hide yo kids! But seriously folks! Have your harpoons ready! 4. Underwater Alien Creature About a mile and half underwater, this alien like creature was actually caught on camera and was filmed by Shell Oil while building an oil platform in the gulf coast. National Geographic claims it’s an elbowed Magnapinna Squid but it really doesn’t look like anything from this world! Oil companies are able to grab some valuable footage of deep sea life. Others claim it’s actually an alien whose attempts to stay hidden from mankind were just spoiled. What do you believe. 3. Giant Isopods In case bugs weren’t creepy enough, imagine them only a 1000x bigger and live on the bottom of the see. Yeah not cool at all. Since the bottom of the ocean doesn’t have any plant matter, the ocean life there must either eat each other or even marine snow, which is basically fish feces, dead fish. So you can probably imagine things that eat this stuff aren’t really going to turn out that pretty! You are what you eat. Hopefully this thing doesn’t eat the cute kitty! 2. Titanic Underwater In 2012, new images of the Titanic were released to the public like you’ve never seen it before. The legendary doomed ship skidded along its starboard side on into an iceberg in the frigid North Atlantic Seas. The ship was too large to turn away and avoid the crash. Using robotic devices, this expedition took two months in order to get never before seen images of the wrecked ship. Now we can see with much more detail of what this creepy, most likely haunted sunken boat looks like, deep below the surface of the ocean. Here you see the bow of the ship pretty much ripped in half. 1.Anglerfish Out of all the creepiest ocean photos, there is still nothing as creepy out there as the angler fish. Also known as the black sea devil, It is the most hideous, vile, diabolical creature in existance. With their goblin like face and freakish nail like teeth, this is the last creature you’d ever want to run into at the beach. There’s over 200 species of anglerfish and not a single one of them is easy on the eyes. They all have a thing known as a lure, which is a piece of flesh that dangles from their head and some of them even glow! This is made to attract prey in the dark underwater abyss we call the ocean. If that’s not creepy enough, the male literally latches on to a female anglerfish for the rest of it’s life and feeds of its nutrients!

Deepest Part of The Oceans - Full Documentary HD

44:54
Measuring the Greatest Ocean Depth The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench is the deepest known point in Earth's oceans. In 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured the depth of the Challenger Deep at 10,994 meters (36,070 feet) below sea level with an estimated vertical accuracy of ± 40 meters. If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, were placed at this location it would be covered by over one mile of water. The first depth measurements in the Mariana Trench were made by the British survey ship HMS Challenger, which was used by the Royal Navy in 1875 to conduct research in the trench. The greatest depth that they recorded at that time was 8,184 meters (26,850 feet). In 1951, another Royal Navy vessel, also named the "HMS Challenger," returned to the area for additional measurements. They discovered an even deeper location with a depth of 10,900 meters (35,760 feet) determined by echo sounding. The Challenger Deep was named after the Royal Navy vessel that made these measurements. In 2009, sonar mapping done by researchers aboard the RV Kilo Moana, operated by the University of Hawaii, determined the depth to be 10,971 meters (35,994 feet) with a potential error of ± 22 meters. The most recent measurement, done in 2010, is the 10,994 meter ( ± 40 meter accuracy) depth reported at the top of this article, measured by the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping.

Living on the Ocean Floor - footage recorded by Vincent Zintzen, Te Papa Fish Team, Natural Environment. Film recorded using a baited Lander in various locations and depths around NZ. The video unit lights up the dark world of the deep sea. Food is scarce so the animals that live in the depths are attracted to the bait. The camera reveals the interesting behaviour of these creatures as they strive to survive in their extreme environment The footage of the seal shark attacking the hagfish, and getting a mouthful of slime for his troubles, is a good example of the knowledge gained through this difficult and exacting research. Bizarre deep sea creatures: Pictures of Russian fisherman’s catch go viral - TomoNews

01:39
MURMANSK, RUSSIA — Startling images of strange deep sea creatures are going viral, thanks to one Russian fisherman and his Twitter account, which the English-language Moscow Times discovered for a global audience. His name is Roman Fedorstov and he crews a deep sea trawler based out of Murmansk in Russia’s frigid far northwest. Fedorov has been cataloguing the strange finds his trawler pulls from the deep ocean, including the hellish Pacific angelfish and the frill shark, which lives up to 5,000 feet beneath the waves. Most of this stuff isn’t intentionally harvested, but turns up in the trawling nets anyhow — this known as “by-catch.” His Twitter feed, which catalogues dozens of incredible images, now has a healthy 83,000 followers. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. 10 Deep Sea Hoaxes Explained

07:44
From infamous Loch Ness sightings, to extremely bizarre sightings, these are 10 deep sea hoaxes explained ! Here’s another hoax associated with the Japanese tsunami of 2011. This time, an e-mail circulated that contained pictures of deep sea creatures that were washed ashore when the waves hit. Interestingly, a similar e-mail was sent out in December of 2004, containing pictures of deep sea creatures that had been washed ashore by the Indian Ocean tsunami that hit Southeast Asia that year. But as snopes.com reported, the e-mails from both 2011 and 2004 contained the exact same pictures. So where did those pictures come from? Well, the pictures are genuine, but have no connection tsunamis when in Japan or the Indian Ocean. The images actually date from 2003, and resulted from a joint-Australian-New Zealand expedition and voyage called NORFANZ that explored deep sea habitats in the Tasman Sea. Think these pictures will make the rounds again whenever a tsunami strikes? In 2013, New Zealand beachgoers at the Bay of Plenty were shocked to find a 30-foot sea monster had washed ashore. A video appeared on YouTube, asking for help in identifying the creature. Guess ranging from a lost species of dinosaur to saltwater crocodile to a giant moray eel poured in. But marine biologist Anton van Helden told a New Zealand news station that the creature is actually a killer whale … or the remains of one, anyway. It’s another case of the globsters or blobsters washing on shore. Wouldn’t it be nice if those masses of organic remains finally turned out to actually be some new species of sea creature? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/apr/07/thames-monster-hoax-sea-beasts-mysterious-creatures Does London have its own version of the Loch Ness Monster? In 2016, an 18-second video surfaced on YouTube that apparently displayed a large hump emerge from the surface of the Thames, along with signs of faint splashing activity. Another clip went online the next day. In this one, a dark shape can be briefly glimpsed before it disappears underwater with a splash. According to the Evening Standard, there’s still no way to independently verify the authenticity of the footage. Although some have conjectured it could be a whale or a camera trick, conservationists and marine biologists can’t seem to come up with an explanation. Ian Tokelove with the London Wildlife Trust said, “the footage isn’t clear enough to make out what we are looking at.” In the past decade, more than 400 dolphins and porpoises, along with over 2000 seals have been seen in the Thames. What do you think? Is a hoax … or should Nessie make room for a new British cousin? Let us know in the comments! Was it really “Crabzilla”? In 2014, a picture appeared to show a monster crustacean lurking off the coast of Kent, England. Local residents of Whitstable were understandably upset when they saw the picture of the huge beast scant yards from town’s harbor. Estimates of its size ranged up to 50 feet! But, as reported in the Daily Mail, this was all likely a hoax. Dr. Verity Nye, researcher at the University of Southampton, said she was intrigued by the story but labeled it false. She said that while the UK does have 60 species of crabs, none would grow as big as the one in the picture. The biggest crab in the UK would be the spider crab, which can reach 12 feet (3.7 meters), about the size of a small car. As for Crabzilla … well, consider the photo was originally published in blog called “Weird Whitstable”, you can kind of do the math. Still what if Crabzilla was the real thing … Imagine all that crab meat! Although this one doesn’t feature animals, it’s still a good example of a deep sea hoax … albeit an unintended one. This stunning picture made the rounds online when someone apparently took the photo as evidence of the Global marine Drilling Company having to tow monster icebergs away from their oil rig, using ships. Ralph Clevenger, the professional photographer behind the image simply merged two pictures of two different icebergs together, neither of which was actually underwater. It was only intended as a work of art, and he never claimed it was unmanipulated. If an Orca whale took on a black bear, who do you think would win? We’ll likely never find out. But the closest we might get is this photo from April 2015, which supposedly shows such an encounter. So it’s obviously fake, but the image of an orca whale rising out of a freshwater river still caught the imagination of a lot of people after circulating online. A couple of clues this story was fake include the fact that orcas live in saltwater habitats … More telling, the item was posted on the Heart of Vancouver Facebook page on April 1st. Did N.O.A.A Confirm The Existence Of Sea Monsters?

06:13
Support Us On Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/MysteryHistory We Are Also On Steemit: https://steemit.com/@mysteryhistory Julia, is the name given to the unknown source of a sound recorded on March 1, 1999. It was recorded on the eastern equatorial Pacific, using an autonomous hydrophone array. Heard for many thousands of kilometres, the source of the sound has been largely dismissed as an iceberg running aground somewhere off of Antarctica, it’s the point of origin being somewhere between Bransfield Straits and Cape Adare. What gave this story a rather chilling twist however, is a classified image which later surfaced, a classified image later redacted, taken by a NASA satellite, which shows something with an enormous shadow, within the waters of Cape Adare at the time, which if confirmed as a living animal, would be classified as a sea monster of gigantic proportions. The USA’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations, or the NOAA for short, have captured and subsequently released, a number of mysterious sounds of possible underwater monsters over the past few years. The Upsweep is an unidentified sound detected on the American NOAA's equatorial autonomous hydrophone arrays. This sound was present when the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory began recording its sound surveillance system, SOSUS, in August, 1991. It consists of a long train of narrow-band upsweeping sounds of several seconds in duration each. The source level was high enough to be recorded throughout the Pacific. The sound appears to be seasonal, generally reaching peaks in spring and autumn, but it is unclear why. The source can be roughly located at 54°S 140°W, which is near the location of volcanic activity, but the origin of the sound remains a mystery. The Whistle, recorded in the Mariana volcanic arc of the Pacific ocean, but since it was only recorded on one hydrophone, rather than the three required to triangulate a location, it is considered "unidentified. Bloop is the name given to an ultra-low-frequency and extremely powerful underwater sound detected by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 1997. The sound's source was roughly triangulated to a remote point in the south Pacific Ocean west of the southern tip of South America, and the sound was detected several times. According to the NOAA description, it rises in frequency rapidly over the duration of one minute, and was of sufficient amplitude to be heard on multiple sensors, at a range of over 5,000 km. Dr. Christopher Fox does not believe its origin to be man-made, such as a submarine or bomb, nor is it familiar to geological events such as volcanoes or earthquakes. The audio profile of Bloop does indeed resemble that of a living creature, yet the source is a mystery both because it is different from any known sounds and because it was several times louder than the loudest ever recorded animal, the blue whale. Slow Down is name given to another mysterious deep sea sound, recorded on May 19, 1997, in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean, name was chosen because the sound slowly decreases in frequency over a duration of 7 minutes. It was recorded using an autonomous hydrophone array. The sound has been picked up several times each year since 1997. And finally, the Train is the name given to a sound recorded on March 5, 1997 on the Equatorial Pacific Ocean autonomous hydrophone array. The sound rises to a quasi-steady frequency, what is especially interesting about this sounds is its origins, which are also within Cape Adare, the same general location as Julia. Could some of these sounds be the mating calls of unknown sea monsters? Maybe one day. We will find out… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unexplained_sounds

Who Lives In the Deepest Place On Earth?

09:57
Who lives at the bottom of the Mariana trench? Scientists have finally revealed the Mariana Trench mystery. Take a look at the deepest creature ever caught there! The curiosity of human nature makes people look for secrets and mysteries far away from home, like in outer space or on other planets. Scientists have mapped only 5 percent of our planet’s seafloor. And if you’ve ever considered the ocean plain and boring, the video you’re about to watch will blow your mind. TIMESTAMPS The Mariana Trench is the deepest area 0:45 The deepest-living fish in the world 2:40 “Ethereal snailfish” 3:12 A mysterious metallic sound 3:38 Deep sea cucumber 5:50 The deep sea anglerfish 6:20 The barreleye fish 7:13 The Champagne Vent 8:05 The 4-inch amoeba 8:35 SUMMARY The Mariana Trench is the deepest area you can find on Earth. Although almost everybody has heard the name, we have shockingly little data about this dark underwater place in the western Pacific Ocean. It’s a monumental task mapping the seafloor and taking pictures when the water pressure at the bottom is more than 1,000 times greater than that at the surface! The Mariana Trench houses the deepest parts of our planet. 18 Most Haunting Images From Under the Sea

11:34
You won't believe what is actually captured in photos deep underwater from yoga with a stingray to mysterious abandoned boats 9. Deadly Blue Hole This enormous hole on the ocean floor in known as ‘Dean’s Blue Hole’ and is the world’s deepest known saltwater blue hole that has an entrance below sea level. It is 202 meters deep and is located in a bay just west of Clarence Town on Long Island in the Bahamas. It certainly gives me goosebumps just looking at it, and I wouldn’t want to fall into it. 8. Scary Giant Squid One of the most daunting and intimidating sea creatures of them all is the giant squid, which can grow to a massive size because of deep-sea gigantism. According to recent estimates, the giant squid females can grow to lengths of 43 feet, or 13 meters, and the males grow up to 33 feet, or 10 meters, from the tip of the tentacles to the posterior fins. That is as large as an average yacht! Can you say deep sea nightmare? 7. Yoga with a Giant Stingray While it may look like the stingray is smiling, and that the swimmer is doing calming yoga, the beauty of this picture is how dangerous what the swimmer is doing actually is. Contact with a stingray’s stinger could mean death for this swimmer. The large fish, and the contrast of how small the human is in comparison, makes this one of the most breathtaking underwater interaction pictures. Also, it is pretty impressive how the swimmer is holding that beautiful pose with the giant stingray just feet away. 6. Creepy Wall of Seaweed No, this is not an optical illusion. That’s right, what you are seeing in this picture is tons of giant seaweed in the rolling waves. Yes, seaweed, like what sushi is wrapped in. But this form of seaweed is far less edible and far more sinister. People die every year from getting caught in its sliminess, causing them to drown as a result. Typically, seaweed isn’t considered as dangerous as a shark, but have you ever had that feeling of something under the water brushing up against you that makes you want to jump out of your skin? That is exactly what you get with this seaweed. 5. Abandoned Submarine The ocean floor doesn’t just have creepy animals, but also some creepy leftovers from humans. There is something so creepy about swimming around the remains of an old ship, or in this case, a giant abandoned submarine. Around the submarine, you will find giant jellyfish and big fish, but that is not the biggest concern for divers. Getting caught in the massive boat’s propeller would spell out certain death. It would probably be best to stick to coral reefs and sharks. 4. The Shadowing Shark What could be more pleasant than a day out on your kayak paddling through crystal clear turquoise waters? Well, this unassuming fella clearly thought the same thing. But what he doesn’t know is that there is danger lurking just feet from him, which could have resulted in a lethal attack. This situation is exactly how many people who are killed by sharks happen to die – when they are least expecting it. We would be high-tailing it out of there as fast as we could paddle. 3. Creepy Ocean Bug So the Goblin Shark and the Wolffish may be terribly ugly looking things, even by sea creature standards, but this gigantic sea bug really takes the cake. It has officially been called a giant isopod, and it certainly is a giant. While this creepy creature may not be as delicious as a sea bream or red snapper, this fisherman looks quite happy with himself for catching the big crustacean. 2. Shark Face Just this picture alone is enough to make anyone question going for a swim in the ocean. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the dramatic and intense cello music and the unsuspecting swimmer being dragged to the depths of the ocean to become dinner for one of these sharp-toothed creatures. The scariest part is just how calm the top of the water looks, making it even more real that this shark could be swimming near you and you wouldn’t even know it. Brave the open ocean… if you dare! 1. Creepy Bubble Formation Water is an interesting substance, allowing for creepy displays when air comes into contact with it. Imagine scuba diving along the ocean bed only to look up and see what appears to be a bubble man. It would give any of us the heebie-jeebies, especially knowing what other creatures share the water.

5 Unexplained & Mysterious Deep Sea Creatures Caught On Camera!

06:52
5 Unexplained & Mysterious Deep Sea Creatures Caught On Camera 2016 Transcript: There is no doubt our oceans contain many mysteries and creatures that go beyond our imagination. Really. Just imagine how many deep sea creatures we havent found that would simply blow our mind if we ever caught them on camera... But today you are lucky because here are 5 Unexplained & Mysterious Deep Sea Creatures Caught On Camera! Prepare because here.... we begin... 1. The Corfu Island Creature A Scottish tourist named Harvey Robertson had the shock of his life as he found the image of a mysterious creature in his vacation’s pictures. Harvey was on a cruise with his family in Corfu when he took a series of photographs from the inside of a cave. But what he didnt notice was the monster he captured in a cave around the island of Corfu that has a snout and unusual eyes with very uncommon characteristics. Up to this day, biologists are still examining this mysterious sea creature but havent found one clue to what it can be. Although people are starting to think that this could be an animal from the Greek mythology. Interesting..... 2. Giant Pyrosome Divers in Australia have captured rare images of the Pyrostremma , or pyrosome sea creature off the coast of Tasmania. It is so rare that it has been dubbed as the 'Unicorn of the Sea' and can grow up to 30 metres long - the equivalent of two double-decker buses laid end-to-end. Its hollow, translucent, cylindrical body is made up of thousands of tiny clones called zooids that pull water through its tubes and feed on plankton before pushing the filtered water back out. (Say this while video is also playing) 3. The Flying Spaghetti Monster This unusual marine animal you are about to see was recently caught on camera near the coast of Angola.A team from BP was carrying out routine operations near an oil well, using a remotely operated underwater vehicle at a depth of 1325 metres, when they spotted the creature, which they nicknamed the flying spaghetti monster. Intrigued, they sent footage of it to Daniel Jones from the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK. Here is the footage of the mysterious deep sea creature. 4. The Mysterious Jellyfish The video you are about to see shows a very strange deep sea creature that was unexpectedly floating into view on an oil ridge camera. The mysterious sea creature was spotted 5 thousand feet deep in the gulf of New Mexico 2 years ago but was just identified by a marine biologist. After so much research, The biologist then found out that this strange creature you are about to see is actually a giant deep sea jellyfish.Take a look at the footage... 5. The Mysterious Giant Squid Squids are not known to spend time at the surface and usually live deep underwater which are most commonly being discovered when they die and wash up on the beaches. In the video you are about to see, a the massive squid comes close to the submerged camera as a crowd of spectators marvel in complete awe. Could the legendary Giant squid squid actually exist? Who knows, but here is the footage. BG Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b73t9SLss8k VIDEO LINKS: 1. The Corfu Island Creature 2. Giant Pyrosome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EQGA_4BZ5s 3. 5 EXTREMELY CREEPY Deep Sea Creatures

03:00
Here are 5 Extremely Creepy Deep Sea Creatures Click Here To Subscribe! http://bit.ly/EliteFacts List : 5. The Ningen This creature from the depths of the ocean may be just about the creepiest thing you could ever see. The reason for this, is that it looks just like a human even having strange limbs that resemble arms and legs. The name Ningen is actually human in Japanese. However, there is no need to panic and worry that the world will be taken over by strange alien sea creatures, because there has never been any official sightings of this little beastie and general opinion is that it’s just a freaky urban myth much like the mermaid. 4. Mantis Shrimp This rainbow hued little creature is not as nice as it looks. It is actually extremely clever and horribly dangerous. One of its main talents is being able to see colours that far surpass even the furthest imagination of humans. As well as, it is an efficient killing machine, it has two appendages at the front of its body which can lash out so powerfully that they cause the water surrounding the creature to reach boiling point! So, even the clever prey that have managed to avoid the physical attack will be rendered defenceless by the boiling water. 3. Pelican Eel Eel’s in general are quite creepy looking, but this one has taken it to another level. This slippery character is basically just a huge mouth with a tail attached. The mouth itself is absolutely terrifying, it unhinges so that its owner can catch prey that is twice its size. The chosen prey is then stored in a pouch within the lower jaw. However, the tail can be just as weird as it possesses a small light producing organ that is called a photophore and this gives off an eerie pink glow. 2. Humpback Anglerfish The female of this species most certainly has a licence to kill. She uses her feminine charm which comes in the form of a bioluminescent lure dangling over her forehead to draw in prey that she can destroy with her rows of ferocious teeth. 1. Predatory Tunicate This is basically a Venus Fly Trap that lives underwater. They are almost completely translucent and they stick themselves to the sea floor and wait patiently for a tasty meal to come along. Once an unsuspecting critter falls for the trap the creatures snap their hoods shut until they’ve had their fill. The Dead Sea Scrolls

01:28:48
The Dead Sea Scrolls are the greatest biblical find of the 20th century - they contain the earliest versions of the Hebrew Bible, maps to the hidden treasure of Jerusalem's Holy Temple, and insight into the mindsets of John the Baptist, Jesus and the early Christians. But the scrolls were soon embroiled in controversy with allegations of conspiracy and cover-up, rumours that persist today thanks to The Da Vinci Code. Most people have heard of the scrolls, but what do they actually contain? In this documentary, journalist Rageh Omaar tells the remarkable story of the Dead Sea Scrolls and uncovers the truth behind the myth, discovering that their story is far from over.

10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. 10 Rare Deep Sea Catches

08:44
From the giant squid found near Antarctica, to the most awesome fish inside a jelly fish ! These are 10 RARE Deep Sea Catches ! Basket Star -- Was it an alien life form? Nothing so exotic. But a fisherman in Singapore reeled in a catch that caught worldwide attention. The weird, writing octopus-like creature was actually a basket star … a distant relative of the starfish. The fisherman said he thought he had reeled in a bunch of seaweed since it’s so prevalent in the area. Although it looks like the creature has hundred of arms wriggling about, it only has five arms, which are each divided into more dexterous ‘branchlets’. This really was a rare deep sea catch since Basket Stars live so deep under the sea … some 6,000 feet or so … and feed mostly on zooplankton. A Controversial Catch -- A Tiger shark measuring nearly 20 feet long was caught off the Australian coast in 2015. Tiger sharks normally grow to lengths between 10 to 14 feet, and are found worldwide in tropical and temperate waters. The apex predators are known to hunt a variety of animals including sea snakes, turtles, dolphins and whales. When photos of the enormous carcass lying on a fishing boat were posted on Facebook, it prompted a social media backlash. Critics compared the display to Cecil the Lion, who was controversially killed by an American big game hunter. What do you think? Ghost Octopus -- A remotely operated submarine called Deep Discover made an amazing discovery when it caught this creature on video: A mysterious, ghostlike octopus sitting on a rock … at a depth of nearly 4,300 meters … or over 14, 000 feet below the surface! The unusual octopus was found during a deep-sea dive in the Hawaiian Archipelago. Researchers said its ghostly appearance is due to the animal’s lack of pigment cell called chromatophores, which most cephalopods possess. While the newly discovered creature is thought to be previously undescribed, researchers have classified it as an incirrate octopod ... meaning it lacks fins and cirri, which are wispy strands found on the arms of some octopuses. Cirrate octopods have fins, and are sometimes called Dumbo octopods … a reference to their resemblance to the Disney cartoon elephant. This small ghost octopus is the first incirrate octopod observed at such an extreme depth. A lot of people think this creature should be named ‘Casper’ … can you think of a better name? Here’s the Catch -- This is kind of like a rare deep sea double catch … A fish is caught inside a jellyfish … and the incident is caught on film! You can see in Tim Samuel’s photograph that the fish seems to realize it’s made a horrible mistake … if it’s any consolation to the fish, the picture will no doubt provide fodder for plenty of internet memes. The incident took place off the coast of Australia's Byron Bay earlier in 2016. The species of the fish and jellyfish are difficult to identify from the picture. But some experts think the jellyfish is a type of stinging jellyfish known as a cubomedusan (koo-boe-med-ooh-san) … and the fish might be a juvenile trevally (treh-valley). Because that fish species is known to evade predators by camouflaging itself among the stingers of certain jellyfish species, it likely intended to get close to the jellyfish … but not actually inside it! Did the jellyfish end up eating the fish … or did the two creatures strike up an unlikely alliance and go on to have some amazing aquatic adventures? As it was decided to let nature run its course … we may never know. Can you think of a happy ending? Gigantic Giant Squid -- A squid the size of a minibus was captured in the area of Antarctica’s isolated Ross Sea. Researchers kept it on ice for some 8 months before thawing it out to discover it’s wasn't just another giant squid … it was a gigantic squid, weighing 770 pounds! Scientists identified the enormous creature’s gender as female, with 8 arms measuring over three feet each, and dual tentacles reaching 7 feet. One of the scientists speculated that animals such as this may have inspired legends like the Kraken, who often battled other huge sea creatures, like whales. Analyzing the huge squid is part of a research project that scientists hope will yield more information about where giant squids figure in the overall marine-based food chain … In addition to identify various squid types and find out more about their dietary patterns and life-cycle.
