In this video, I will show where to obtain all of Quina's Blue Magic spells. To use Quina's Eat command, the enemy must be lower than 1/8 of its total HP. These skills may be able to be obtained from other monsters, but all the monsters I get them from are accessible on Disc 4. NOTE: If I fight an enemy in the world map, you need to be in the same area as I am (grass, dirt, forest, beach, etc). You may not find the enemy in other areas. 1,000 Needles: Obtain this from Cactuar. You can find Cactuar on the Forgotten Continent. Angel's Snack: Obtain this from Ironite. You can find Ironite in Burmecia. Aqua Breath: Obtain this from Axolotl. You can find Axolotl in Qu's Marsh on the Mist Continent. Auto Life: Obtain this from Gimme Cat. Eat = Blue Magic During any battle, Quina can attempt to Eat an enemy; however, the enemy must be in a weakened state (near death) for this to succeed. After selecting the Eat command, Quina will tell you whether the monster is ready to be eaten. If the enemy is weak enough, Quina will simply eat it. As the monsters you encounter become more powerful, it becomes difficult for Quina to eat them and learn abilities. Use Dagger's Scan ability to determine the current HP of each monster. When its HP gets low, only have your weakest attackers strike and then keep trying to eat the monster each round. Casting spells such as Slow or Mini will aid in the digestion process. Quina can eat almost any kind of monster, and even some Boss monsters too. The abilities that Quina learns enable you to perform some tricks that will help you kill monsters and confront Bosses more effectively. Since some monsters only appear up to a certain point in the game, try to eat various monsters as you encounter them to learn as many abilities as you can. Blue Magic Spell MP Effect Goblin Punch 4 Causes non-elemental damage to enemy Lv5 Death 20 KO's all enemies whose Levels are multiples of 5 Lv4 Holy 22 Causes Holy damage to enemies whose Levels are multiples of 4. Every normal blue magic spell. This does not contain the special spells that you can cast with Unbridled Learning/Unbridled Wisdom. The reason for this is that i am missing 3 of these and obtaining them is beyond what i can do at this point. If Square ever add a different way to obtain them i will make a second video featuring them. These special spells are: Harden Shell Thunderbolt Absolute Terror Gates of Hades Tourbillion Pyric Bulwark Bilgestorm Bloodrake Droning Whirlwind Carcharian Verve Blistering Roar Uproot Crashing Thunder Polar Roar Mighty Guard Cruel Joke (missing) Cesspool (missing) Tearing Gust (missing) Go here if you want to know anything about these spells. http://ffxiclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Blue_Mage

You can head back to the Iifa Tree and fight a Zombie get to low HP and eat with Quina to learn the Blue Magic Roulette. Missed this my first time around. Careful as they have about 1000hp so attack with Eiko and Vivi then Eat. Might take a couple tries or you can get this later in the game on disc 4 vs Hecteyes.

For the full Blue Magic Guide go to: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=665382782 Quina Quen is a playable character in Final Fantasy IX. S/he is a Blue Mage and can cast Blue Magic obtained from enemies. Unlike other Final Fantasy games Quina does not learn new Blue Magic skills by being hit by the attack. Instead s/he has to consume the enemy who possesses the attack with the Eat command. Recruiting Quina on disc 1 is optional, but s/he will join the party the first time the player visits a Qu's Marsh. If Quina learns every Blue Magic spell in the steam version of Final Fantasy IX the "Good Eatin'!” achievement is unlocked

For the full Ronso Rage Guide go to http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=682967292 Kimahri Ronso is introduced in FFX as a member of the Ronso tribe. While taller than humans, he is smaller than the average Ronso. Unlike other Ronso, Kimahri has a broken horn, which serves as a distinguishing characteristic. Similar to characters such as Quina, Kimahri can be considered a Blue Mage. Like all Rosno, Kimahri has a lancet ability, which grants him the power to obtain various enemy skills throughout the game. These skills can then be used in overdrive throughout the game. Gaining a new enemy skill fills up Kimahri’s overdrive bar instantly. Kimahri automatically starts with the ability Jump. Specifically, lancet is an ability in Final Fantasy X that allows characters to absorb HP and MP from their opponents. If Kimahri uses this ability on certain fiends, he will have a chance to learn a new Ronso Rage. Similar to other spells such as Drain, Lancet does damage to its user if it is used on a fiend who is undead fiend or zombie status . The damage that lancet causes is not considered physical or magical, but rather falls into its own “special” category. Lancet is not influenced by the spells protect or shell.

It will help us out a bunch as a channel. :) In our latest Final Fantasy Evolutions video, we've decided to look at the Blue Mage job class! As it's just been added into Final Fantasy XIV, this seemed rather apt, but the truth is, the Blue Mage has been a rather interesting job ever since it was first introduced with Final Fantasy V. Numerous characters over the years have either been Blue Mages (like Strago and Quina) or have exhibited traits (like Quistis and Kimahri), but how they've done so has always been rather unique. With appearances in Final Fantasy VII (Enemy Skill Materia), Final Fantasy XI and now with the Final Fantasy XIV blue mage gameplay showing it to be very faithful interpretation, it means the Blue Mage has been a part of most mainline installments of the franchise since its debut. We hope you enjoy this Blue Mage Documentary, as we look into how the concept of what a Blue Mage does has evolved over time, with full explanations! :D *** SITE - http://www.finalfantasyunion.com FACEBOOK - http://www.facebook.com/finalfantasyunion TWITTER - http://www.twitter.com/ffunion DISCORD: https://discord.gg/n7YRuaA *** In this video, we will be covering different interpretations of the Blue Mage job class including...: - Blue Mage in Final Fantasy V - Strago Lore - Enemy Skill Materia FF7 - Quistis Limit Break (Blue Magic FF8) - Quina Blue Magic - Kimahri Overdrive - Blue Mage FFXI - Blue Mage FFXIV

Gun Mage is your typical Blue Mage class in past Final Fantasy games, though with a kick to it. Unlike Blue Mages in past games, the Gun Mage is capable of dealing increased damage to specific enemy types with its main command, making it exceptionally useful in specific areas, such as using Mech Destroyer in Bevelle. In addition, it comes with the classic Blue Magic skillset, known as Blue Bullet in this game. Each girl must learn the Blue Bullet separately, so keep this in mind when trying to learn the skills! Some Blue Bullets are very rare and are best gotten with everyone alive (Mortar, Annihilator, and Drill Shot are the three that are permanently missable in a single playthrough file, though can be gotten in New Game+). Blue Bullets can be very powerful weapons, though can also be quite costly in terms of MP where it may be better to switch to another Dressphere and use a less costly method such as regular attacks. Of the Blue Bullets, White Wind, Mighty Guard, Annihilator, Supernova, Heaven's Cataract, and Cry in the Night are all exceptional Blue Bullets, with Stone Breath, Bad Breath, and Absorb are relatively decent. The rest? Well...Seed Cannon just is never useful, and Blaster rarely works. Fire Breath is fine for Fire-elemental damage, while Mortar, Storm Cannon, 1000 Needles, and Drill Shot are all decent offensive options, but are pretty expensive for their costs. I could be wrong, of course! Your mileage may vary, especially with Storm Cannon if its damage formula is the same between the enemy version and Blue Bullet version!
