Also, you'll notice that I take a full scoop of pre-workout even though it's after 9pm. That's just because this specific pre-workout has a nitric oxide blend but no caffeine or anything so it will get you a good workout and increase your circulation but nothing that will keep you awake after your workout. Now, as you'll see, once I get to the gym, I spend about my first 15 warming up my leg muscles. So I start with 5 minutes of LISS cardio, then warm up my knees and stretch out my hip flexors. After that, I will usually do my first compound exercise with light weight to force blood into the muscles to avoid injuries. In this video, I’m going to give you 4 leg workout tips for mass that will help even the hardest of hardgainers to pack on size and start bulking up your legs in no time. The first thing that most guys with skinny legs get wrong is that they allow their ego and self consciousness get in the way of what they should be doing in their leg workouts. No doubt, it can be a bit intimidating to watch others around you squat multiple plates while you are struggling to lift even one big plate for clean reps. That’s ok. Everyone starts somewhere and if you choose to start further ahead of where you should be it is a mistake that is going to hold you back for years to come. Most guys with skinny legs will put more weight on the bar than they can handle in the squat and then proceed to crank out quarter reps. Not only is this robbing your legs of the stress that they can handle but you are doing this at the exclusion of doing the reps you should be doing to build bigger legs the right way. What you need to do is lower the weight to those that you can handle and get your intensity not from the heavier weights but from the high rep sets that you do in good form through full range of motion. The next thing the hardgainer has to do for his legs is learn how to properly push from the ground. There is no way that you are going to lift as much weight as you can in your leg workouts unless you learn how to push through your feet. An equal and opposite force is needed to lift the weight that is on your shoulders during a squat. There is no better place to learn this than with the deadlift exercise. The deadlift demands that you push through your legs during the first half of the left, beyond which point it becomes a pulling exercise. If you practice just the first half of the deadlift or combine it in one and a half rep fashion, you will build more strength through the legs off the floor. The will dramatically help you to increase your squat and lift heavier weights over time. Multi-dimensional leg training is also important to fully developed legs. Almost all of the leg exercises that hardgainers use only stress the legs in the sagittal plane. Squats, leg extensions and leg curl are all one plane exercises that don’t mimic the functionality of the legs and limit the amount of growth that can be had by training the adductors and abductors of the legs as well. Finally, I like to include exercises for the legs that are technically easier to perform than the squat and allow for someone just starting out to add weight faster. The Bulgarian Split Squat is a great exercise for doing this since it literally puts you in the right position to perform the exercise. The quads get loaded and the safety of the exercise is intact since you can simply dump the weights if you need to at the bottom of the squat without risk. MVP STATUS Now, you might be wondering, "Just what the hell is an MVP workout?" Well, first and foremost, it takes an MVP: someone with motivation, vision, and passion; someone who's willing to push every exercise to the brink; someone who can train to failure, stare it dead in the eye, and shove past it. Show me anyone, man or woman, who can turn a workout into a muscle-burning challenge, and I'll show you an MVP. Second, the workout itself has to qualify. It has to be hard, fast, and packed with a dynamic array of exercises. It should build strength and size. It should test your limits, encourage growth, and hit the target body part with force. This leg workout definitely fits the bill. This is a volume-based workout, and your goal should be to get a good contraction of the working muscle on every rep. You may sacrifice a bit of the weight today, but focus on form and time under tension, and you won't be disappointed. When you concentrate on form, you get more into the nitty-gritty of breaking down your muscle. Move at a fast pace, using 3 sets of reverse-pyramid lifting per exercise. Go heavy on each first working set, then decrease the weight and increase the reps for the second and third sets. Drop the weight about 10 percent after each set. EQUIPMENT VARIATIONS Not every gym has a Smith machine. Not every gym has a leg press, let alone an inverted leg press. Be creative. The Smith machine leg press replicates that inverted motion; check out the video to see how I used a box for that exercise. The press can also be completed from the ground. Put the stops up on the Smith machine for safety.

Leg Workout Routine: We always start our leg day with a few warm up sets, in this video we started off with leg extensions, leg curls (Including Gironda leg curl) and Glute bridges. After the sets mentioned above, we we're fully warmed up and ready to take on the compound exercises. Our working sets includes of SST(Sarcoplasmic Stimulating Training) with Squats - heavy sets, time under tension and high reps. Hack squats facing the machine(heels are higher and more emphasis on the glutes) then the other way round to lay more ephasis on the quads. We love the leg press machine as it targets multiple muscles and with leg press we focus on repetition. They're one of the most important muscle groups found in your body without them you wouldn't be able to walk run or jump and you would also have a serious case of flat pancake butt. Nobody wants see a flat butt not guys and not girls so in today's video I'm going to do all the peach loving people of the world a big favor and give you guys the 5 best exercises for a nice looking butt. And if you've been doing your squats and you've been trying your absolute best but your glutes just don't seem to grow give this video chance because I'm going to dive into specific methods you can use to Target your glutes to build a nicer butt so you can fill up those jeans in no time. Let's start with the very first one that everyone knows about and that's barbell squats. But we're not just doing regular barbell squats the best types of squats to work your glutes are deep barbell squats. Getting down nice and low during squats is the secret to building nicer glutes. A lot of people are afraid of going low during squats because of the many myths that exist about how low you're allowed to go. The truth is that as long as you don't have any previous injuries to your knees and your form is correct you can go almost all the way to the ground. This is actually something that trainers call ass to the grass squats. And going nice and low for your squats is a very natural movement for your body. I always bring up this example but before we had toilets we would take a squat every single day and that squat was naturally a deep squat. This is why deep squats are a very natural movement that our bodies have had plenty of time throughout history to adapt to. The problem is if you're not used to squatting a deep squat feels like anything but natural. So it's important that you learn the right way to do it and if you're not used to squatting the best way to start is 2 put a seat or a platform behind you and simply stand facing a mirror and sit down and get back up sit down and get back up. Most people perform a very good squat when they're sitting down but if you tell that same person to squat without a platform behind them they'll start messing it up. After you feel comfortable enough you can get rid of the seat or platform and try to perform regular squats. You would do this by keeping your chest out towards the mirror turning your hips out too kind of exaggerated The Arc in your back leaning back on your heels so take all the pressure off of your toes as you squat keep the pressure on your heels and then just sit back while trying to keep your knees from crossing too far over your toes. Once you're comfortable doing that you can try to put a really short platform on the ground and try to squat down and tap that platform with every rep. Now after you feel like your form is on point you can add the barbell into the movement and you can start incrementally increasing the weight. Remember the key points are to squat low stick your chest out and stick your butt out and stay on your heels as you come down for your squats. Let's move on to the second exercise step-ups but once again we're not doing regular step-ups because regular step-ups don't Target your glutes anywhere near as much as the way that I'm about to show you. You see normally when people are doing step-ups they're actually working their back calf a lot more than they think. Sure they're still going to work their quad and their hamstring a little on that front leg to get up on top of the platform they're stepping up on. However that back calf is taking the pressure off of the glute on the other leg. And this happens because most people will kickoff for every rep when doing this exercise. So to turn this into an exercise that improves your butt I want you to point the toes of your back foot up towards the ceiling the whole time. By pointing your toes towards the ceiling it makes it impossible for you to kick off. So this puts all the stress and work that's required to get your body up that platform on that front leg and that bottom portion of going up without kicking off is going to Target the glutes big time. The one thing that you should keep in mind is since you're not kicking off you will probably have to use less weight than what you were doing if you were to just do regular step-ups.

Here, I’m going to reveal to you the number one thing you need to do every single time you workout your legs. Some may have given you alternative advice, and I’m going to tell you that what you have been given is just bad advice. For instance, if you were told that all you ever need to do is squat, you have been given bad training advice. Likely, the person telling you this has never trained an athlete and doesn’t understand that the extent of leg training encompasses more than just the quads and hamstrings. The muscles of the hips are some of the most underutilized and undertrained areas on the body and can only be targeted with multiplanar movements and exercises. The squat is a bilateral, sagittal plane movement. If all you ever do is squat then you are not training your legs and hips in the transverse and frontal planes. Basically, you are avoiding two of the three dimensions in space. Not good if you ever plan to call yourself an elite level athlete. Here I show you why incorporating single leg training is not an option but a requirement of a complete leg training plan. Now, am I bashing on the squat? Not at all. The squat is the single most important leg and hip movement that you can do and should form the basis or foundation of your leg workouts. That said, as I pointed out, this is a sagittal plane exercise that has some shortcomings that need to be addressed with additional single leg exercises. One of the key benefits to single leg exercises like the Bulgarian Split Squats and multi-directional lunges are that they not only train you to be strong on each leg individually but they help to reveal strength imbalances between sides. Intervening early when a strength imbalance is detected is one of the fastest ways to fix the problem and the best way to prevent this from resulting in a lower body injury that keeps you away from the gym for too long. You will see that no matter which athlete I train, at some point in a given leg workout we are going to be doing single leg exercises and training. It can either be explosive or controlled. The bottom line is, not an athlete gets out of the gym without first completing at least one of these leg exercise options in their leg workout. Multi-joint leg movements incorporate massive muscle contractions, which ignite your natural HGH hormone as well as our anabolic hormone, testosterone. 1:20 - When it comes to form, all of your power should be coming from your heel. Keep your chest big, eyes up, butt back and down until your hamstrings are parallel. The full range of motion is the most effective! 3:36 - Bodyweight variations of the squat are great too. Depending on your bodyweight and physical condition, try to hit rep ranges between 15-20. 3:47 - Step-ups are fantastic leg pumping exercises too because it tags your balance and stability skills while you are contracting your musculature. Grab a pair of dumbbells and complete step-ups with resistance to really crank up the calorie burn. 4:45 - Be careful on the descent of the movement because (depending on the height of your bench or box or chair) the landing can be very impactful so be mindful as you alternate legs during the step reps. 5:04 - And of course there are always lunges - These are great because you can literally do them anywhere. Take a long stride, striking the ground with your heel and driving upward through that same heel. 5:35 - I don't pause between lunge steps because moving quickly through the movement allows you to get a great plyometric experience to enhance calorie burn. 6:20 - Next, hip bridges - Drive with one heel planted to the ground and driving the other leg upward into the air. 7:02 - And finally, calves. On an elevated surface, such as a 45 lb plate, and let your heel stretch down to the ground and pulse upward in a full range of motion. 8:06 - For each of these exercises, you want to complete at least 4 sets with rep ranges going towards failure. Walking Double Lunge - This dynamic, total-body movement is where this leg workout shifts into higher rep ranges—and you'll really start to feel the work piling up. Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift - Moving into more isolated exercises, the dumbbell Romanian deadlift is Hildebrandt's first choice for targeting the hamstrings. But it's all in how you do it. Leg Extension - The reps start to really add up with this isolation exercise—and as Hildebrandt warns, you're going to start feeling the burn. He leaves the rep range open at 15-20 because he wants you to try to find that point of muscle failure where your quads just can't take it anymore. Seated Leg Curls - As with the leg extensions, you'll use a higher rep range on the seated curl to balance out the front and back of the leg. And since we're still solidly in isolation mode, avoid the temptation to go heavy or let momentum take over. Superset: Seated Calf Raise with Donkey Calf Raise - Hildebrandt is known for his attention to detail, and this killer superset finisher is just the thing to bring out definition in those calves. By moving from a bent knee position to a straight knee position, you target all muscles in the calf complex for complete calf development.
