Joins in Oracle (SQL) Explained in detail with practical examples
The video demonstrates what are the different types of joins and who they work in SQL. The tutorial is a little elaborate to make sure that you understand different kind of joins and where you should use which kind of join. The 5 Kind of joins explained are. 1. Inner join (Join or simple join) :- Rows that are common to both tables are returned as the output. 2. Left Outer join (Left join):- Returns all rows from the left table along with matching rows from the right table 3.Right Outer join (Right join):- Returns all rows from the right table along with matching rows from the left table 4.Full outer join (Full join) :- Returns all the records when there is a match in either left or right table. 5. Cartesian Join : (Join with no where condition)also known as a Cartesian product, is a join of every row of one table to every row of another table.

Oracle TO_DATE Function Explained with Examples
https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-to_date/ The Oracle TO_DATE function is one of the most useful conversion functions in Oracle. It can be a little confusing though. The TO_DATE function is used to convert a character value to a date value. You can use it to convert a string that is in the format of a date, into a date data type. Why would you use this? Converting a character to a date is helpful if you want to insert a date into a column in a table. Being specific about the format (explicit) is better than assuming the conversion will be done for you (implicit). This TO_DATE function only converts to a DATE data type. If you want to convert to the other datetime data types, you’ll have to use other functions such as TO_TIMESTAMP or TO_TIMESTAMP_TZ. The syntax for this function is: TO_DATE(charvalue [, format_mask [, nls_date_language]]) The parameters for this function are: Charvalue: This is the character value that you want to convert to a date. It’s the main input of the function. Format_mask: This is the format that the input value, the charvalue, is in. This is used to help convert your character value into a date, as your character may be in a different format to the default. Nls_date_language: this is used to determine how the output is displayed. For more information about the Oracle TO_DATE function, including all of the SQL shown in this video and the examples, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-to_date/

Analytical Functions in oracle explained with real examples
This video explains analytical functions and how they are implemented in real projects. Analytical functions are somewhat similar to aggregate functions, but they offer much more. Why use analytical function ? They allow you to write fast and concise queries which otherwise will involve self join and long processing times They allow you to perform aggregate functions independently on sets of partitions. You can access values from previous rows in current row and you can restrict the window on which you want to apply this analytical function. I have given additional practice exercises along with the dataset so that you can comfortably work with analytical functions. You can find the sample problems along with dataset in the below link. http://www.internshipsfromhome.com/oracle-analytical-functions-ddl-and-dml/

oracle pl sql packages examples
Introducing to PL/SQL Package PL/SQL package is a group of related functions, procedures, types, cursors, etc. PL/SQL package is like a library once written stored in the Oracle database and can be used by many applications. A PL/SQL package has two parts: package specification and package body. A package specification is the public interface of your applications. The public means the stored function, procedures, types, etc., are accessible from other applications. A package body contains the code that implements the package specification. PL/SQL Package PL/SQL Package Creating PL/SQL Package Specification The package specification is required when you create a new package. The package specification lists all the objects which are publicly accessible from other applications. The package specification also provides the information that developers need to know in order to use the interface. In short, package specification is the package’s API. If the package specification does not contain any stored functions, procedures and no private code is needed, you don’t need to have a package body. These packages may contain only type definition and variables declaration. Those variables are known as package data. The scope of package data is global to applications. It is recommended that you should hide as much as package data as possible and use get and set functions to read and write that data. By doing this, you can prevent your package data changed unintentionally. It is important to note that you must compile the package specification before package body.

The audio and video now synced. Ever tried creating a table inside a PL SQL block, or a function or a procedure? If yes, then you would know that it would raise an error, as DDL statements are not allowed inside a PL/SQL Block. So the solution to such a case, where you want to generate tables, or sequences or want to execute any DDL statement on the fly, then use synamic sql. Dynamic SQL statment will allow you to create state statements on the fly and then you can execute them using the execute immediate statement. This video tutorial demonstrates on this topic of using synamic sql with execute immediate in a PL/SQL block.

Oracle NVL Function Explained with Examples
https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-nvl-nvl2-logical-functions/ The Oracle NVL function allows you to check a value and return a different value if that value is NULL. It’s great for using another value if the first one is NULL or an optional value, for example people’s phone numbers. It’s also good alongside aggregate functions and grouping so you can see what the difference is between a subtotal row and an actual NULL value. The syntax of the Oracle NVL function is: NVL( check_value, replace_value ) The parameters are: - check_value (mandatory): This is the value that is displayed to the user. It is also the value that is checked for NULL. - replace_value (mandatory): This is the value that appears if the check_value is NULL. The function can use many different data types as parameters: string, date, or numeric. However, both parameters need to be the same type. For more information about the Oracle NVL function, including all of the SQL shown in this video and the examples, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-nvl-nvl2-logical-functions/
