I don't expect to "earn my income" from the sales my Kindle books, they are more of a lead generation system. My wife and I have distributed over 50,000 Kindle books and the number of leads and customers we have generated through our funnels with our Kindle books is amazing! Also, some of the highest quality traffic we receive comes from Kindle because Kindle users often our customers and there's leveraged credibility from Amazon for us. These people have consumer content, purchased a product of ours before they ever enter our funnel… This increases the likelihood of them taking action on the offers we present throughout her funnel. What tools should you be using on your website to market your business? It tracks your visitor count if you have a lot of traffic. They'll sample the data unless you pay like a hundred or a hundred and fifty grand or whatever their price is per year. Google Analytics will show you how people are engaging throughout your site and what traffic sources are causing most conversions. Don't optimize for traffic. Optimize for traffic that causes conversions. 3:00 The second digital marketing tool I have for you is Ubersuggest. You're going to want to get rankings. You're going to want more search traffic. It's the most consistent traffic that you'll get. Yes. Social media traffic is easier and quicker to get. But Google's algorithm updates aren't as crazy as Facebook's. It won't be where one day you're getting 300,000 visitors from Facebook organic reach and the next day you're getting 10,000 visitors. Google's organic traffic is very, very consistent. So use Ubersuggest. 3:40 The third digital marketing tool I have for you is Google Search Console. We love doing this internally, where we take Google search console, we log in; we look at all the posts, how many impressions they get, how many clicks they get and the click-through rate. We look for the posts that get less than a five percent click-through rate. We look at all the keywords that were getting impressions from that post, and then we integrate those keywords into that blog post or that landing page, and we rewrite that content. 7:30 The fourth digital marketing tool is Crazyegg. Crazyegg shows me how people are engaging with my website. How far they're scrolling. Where they're clicking. It allows me to take that data and, within Crazyegg, you don't have to be a developer, you don't have to be a designer. You can adjust your page and run A/B tests to maximize your sales. Because it's not just about getting traffic, it's about converting those visitors into conversions. Another tool that I love using is called Subscribers. It's through push notifications. People will come through to your website, but they don't come back. 8:00 The fifth digital marketing tool is called Subscribers. It's through push notifications. People will come through to your website, but they don't come back. What it does is it puts a little browser notification when people come to your site and gets them to subscribe without being obtrusive, it does it all within the browser. 9:00 The last digital marketing tool that I'm going to give you guys that you guys should check out is HubSpot. HubSpot's a great tool to look at your overall marketing, your lead count. It integrates marketing with sales, and that's why I want to end with HubSpot. I love it. I use it, and sure some people may say "Hey, there are other tools that do this or that." HubSpot has a lot of free plans, and they have some startup plans, which is very entrepreneur friendly, and best of all is they keep adding more and more stuff for free, so why not? They're a huge billion dollar company that are trying to crush their competitors, so they're just releasing a lot of stuff for free. Hey, that's for your benefit. 10:00 All this data and these digital marketing tools, with no action, is useless. You're better off saving the money and not even paying or using any of them. Affiliate marketing is when you pay other people to market your product or service. And the beautiful part about affiliate marketing is you only pay them for every time they drive a lead or a sale. And you can pick which one it is. And that's amazing, because if they're not driving you sales you don't have to spend a dollar. Now the key with this is to incentivize your affiliates. The way you do this is paying them a nice bounty every time they drive you a sale or a lead. But before you can do that, you need to figure out your cost for your product or your service. So for example, let's say you're selling something for $200. But your physical hard cost is 100 bucks. You know you can't pay out an affiliate more than $100. If you pay them $100 every time they drive you a sale you're breaking even, you're not making any profit. You don't want to do that. You could really offer them 10 bucks. But if you offer them something that's too low it's not gonna incentivize them to push your offer instead of pushing your competitor's offer. So you need to make sure that you're giving them enough of a bounty where they're gonna be like, "Oh my God, this is a lot of money and I'm gonna be happy!" The next thing you need to do is check out all your competitor affiliate campaigns. So go to their websites, look for their affiliate pages and when you look at their affiliate pages see what they're offering. You ideally want to try to at least match that if not beat that. If your numbers don't work out where you can beat it than of course, you know, give a lower bounty to your affiliates. And last by not least, optimize your landing pages. Through using Crazy Egg, you can see how far people are scrolling where they're clicking, where they're getting stuck. And when you optimize your landing pages your conversions are gonna go higher. You can even run AB tests inside Crazy Egg. And as your conversion rate gets better and even if your conversion rate is better than your competition you can give a lower bounty because if someone drives 100 visitors to your competitor and they only get one sale but you have an optimized landing page and they drive 100 visitors to your website and they get three sales. In theory, you can pay them less because they're getting a much better ROI on their marketing spend. Do that, and you can generate more sales or a lot more sales without having to increase your marketing budget.

We're here to answer your questions. If you have one, leave a comment below, and we may answer it in next week's episode. So Adam, what's this week's question? This one is from Dipak. It says, hey Neil, thanks for making this awesome video. Would you like to make one video about product launches? Like pros and cons during the launch process? The first thing you need to know when you're doing a product launch is that you need to have a platform that allows you not only to sell the product but to deliver the product. A simple way to sell the product is using click funnels. A simple way to deliver the product is using Kajabi. Kajabi allows you to deliver a course to people once they buy. Click Funnels allows you to optimize the funnels so you can get more purchases and sales. Technically, Kajabi can do all of that. But I prefer Click Funnels on the front end, and I love using Kajabi on the back end to deliver the course, drip people the content over time. Now that you got the software solutions, what you want to do is create a web page with the offering for your product launch. Use Click Funnels to create a video talking about your product, the price points, what they're going to get for it, and you can just create a script. Create a little quick intro video on Click Funnels. You can do this on your iPhone. You say in this intro video, hey everyone, wanna learn how to grow your YouTube channel? Register for this webinar. I'm going to show you 11 secrets on how to grow your YouTube channel. Once they register, you have a PowerPoint presentation. The PowerPoint presentation is going to be around 45 minutes to an hour. The first 30 minutes you're going to educate them on all these cool crazy YouTube tactics. Don't charge for it. Just give away all the information for free. After you do that, you said, hey, now that you've learned everything, do you want to hear a simpler way to grow your YouTube channel? I showed you all the ways that you can do it on your own, but would you like to learn some of the hacks that I use that speed up the process so that way you don't have to take seven, eight months to get results and you could get results in three months? Usually, people say yes. Then you hook them with a special offer. Normally, if I did one on one YouTube consulting and you went to people in person, you're going to charge five figures. You would end by saying, but, if you want to do this, I have a special offer for you, you can get it now for whatever price. Once you have people are saying yes, yes, yes. Then what you want to do is send them to a page where they can check out. You can do this all on Click Funnels. You can also do this live. You host a live webinar once a month, or you can make an evergreen webinar. If you want to make an evergreen webinar, webinar jam has software called everwebinar. Once you've completed those steps, you can drive traffic to your product launch using YouTube ads or Facebook ads. Facebook ads tend to convert better than YouTube ads. The other strategy for a product launch is to go to all the popular bloggers in your space, contact them and offer to give them 30, 40, 50% of every single sale you drive. Do a joint webinar with them. They'll push your product, and you can generate sales. ConvertKit does a wonderful job of this. Their revenue figures are public. They're doing over ten million a year in revenue. Most of their revenue is driven by affiliates and launches. Another product launch tip is to contact all of the people who clicked on your check out page but didn't buy. You re-market to them with the YouTube and Facebook video that breaks in with what they would get if they purchase. Send them back to the check out page. You'll notice it will be your highest converting ad campaign. That's what we did. It has worked amazingly well. It still works. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. How great would it be to know what your customers wanted before they even asked for it? Can you imaging what it would do for your business and your reputation to always have a collection of highly sought after products or services? You’d quickly become the go-to expert in your field and customers would know they could count on you to solve their problems quickly and easily. And that’s why on this episode of we’re talking all about market research, and I’ll give you 5 ways to know what your customers want before they even do. #1 Google Trends Google trends allows you to track which keywords are increasing in popularity and provides suggestions for other terms that are rising in search volume. This is a hugely valuable tool and for the most part is largely ignored, which means that by using it you’re gaining valuable insights that your competitors are likely not using. #2 Google Keyword Planner To use the keyword planner you first need to sign up for a free Google Adwords account. Even if you’re not planning on advertising it’s still a good thing to have. From there you can access their free Keyword Planner, type in a keyword and receive not only the number of searches for that keyword, but also a list of suggested keywords that people are looking for online each and every month. #3 Facebook Insights The best way to use Facebook Insights is to post a variety of different content to your business page (all related to your business of course) and see which posts get the most engagement (such as likes, shares, and comments). From there you can determine what type of content your audience is most interested in so you can start to create more just like it, and eventually, products and services around those subjects. #4 Twitter Insights Twitter audiences allow you to really drill down on the types of things your customers and followers are interested in. As an example, for my account I can see that my audience is made up mostly of people interested in entrepreneurship, marketing, travel, and technology. #5 Google Alerts The final piece of our customer understanding puzzle comes again from the search engine giant, Google. Google Alerts allows you to monitor what’s happening with your customers right now. The way to use Google Alerts is to enter a keyword that you would like to track into the search bar at the top of the page, then Google will email you when this keyword appears online. You can use this to track your businesses name, the industry you’re in, your own name, your competitors, or pretty much anything else you can think of. Customer Insights Using even one of these tools can help you gain a better understanding of your customers. But when you combine all 5, you’re really able to create a clear and compelling picture of your customers wants, needs, and behaviors.
