Types of Chemical Reactions
We'll learn about the five major types of chemical reactions: synthesis, decomposition, synthesis, single replacement (also called single displacement) and double replacement (also called double displacement). We'll look at examples of each, so that you can classify them, figuring out what type they are. In a synthesis reaction, a compound is made from more simple materials. In a decomposition reaction, a compound breaks down into simpler elements or compounds. In a combustion reaction, a compound (usually with carbon, hydrogen, and sometimes oxygen) combines with oxygen to give carbon dioxide and water. In a single replacement (displacement) reaction, one element that is on its own displaces another element in aqueous solution, kicking it out. In a double replacement (displacement) reaction, the positive and negative ions in two ionic compounds switch places, causing a precipitate to form.

Glands - What Are Glands - Types Of Glands - Merocrine Glands - Apocrine Glands - Holocrine Glands
In this video we look at the different types of glands in the body. We discuss the structure of glands and how they are classified. Transcript/notes Glands are multicellular organs or individual cells that secrete substances for use in the body. Most glands are made up of epithelial tissue and their secretions include mucin, hormones, electrolytes, enzymes and waste products. Glands can be divided into 2 groups, endocrine glands and exocrine glands. Endocrine glands secrete their products, mainly hormones, directly into the blood stream or interstitial fluid that surrounds cells. Some endocrine glands include the adrenal, thyroid and pituitary glands. Exocrine glands typically secrete their products into a duct or onto a surface, such as the skin, not into the bloodstream. Exocrine glands can be unicellular or multicellular. Unicellular exocrine glands do not contain ducts, and the mulicellular glands do contain a duct system. An example of a unicellular exocrine gland is the goblet cell, which can be found in epithelial tissue and secretes mucin which forms a mucus layer coating certain tissue areas, such as the passageway in the trachea in the respiratory system. Multicellular exocrine glands can be classified in 2 different ways, by their form, or by their secretion method. Let’s look at classification by form. There are 2 different forms, simple glands which have a single duct, and compound glands which have branching ducts. There are also 2 different forms of the sectetory portion of the gland, tubular, where the diameter of the duct and secretory portion are similar and acinar or alveolar, where the secretory portion of the gland forms a sac like shape. So, there are simple straight tubular, coiled tubular, simple branched tubular which still has only one duct making it a simple gland, and simple acinar, and simple branched acinar, again, only 1 duct. And for compound glands with more than one duct, there are compound tubular, compound acinar and compound tubuloacinar with both tubular and acinar regions. Now for classification by secretion method, in which there are 3 basic types; merocrine, apocrine and holocrine. Merocrine glands release their secretions through the process of exocytosis where secretory vesicles are released through the plasma membrane of the cell, without damaging the cell itself. The salivary glands are an example of merocrine glands. Apocrine glands actually pinch off a portion of the cell to release their secretory products. The cell repairs itself and continues to release its products in the same manner. Mammary and some sweat glands are examples of apocrine glands. The third type is holocrine glands. In holocrine glands cells accumulate a secretory product and the entire cell ruptures to release the product. The ruptured cells are replaced by other epithelial cells through cell division. Some examples of holocrine glands. Examples of holocrine glands include certain glands in the skin and in the eyelids. We will cover the structure and functions of individual glands in future videos.

Types of production systems by basic engineering
Types of production 1. Make to stock production:- The name itself indicates that the manufacturer makes his products to maintain sufficient stock of the product. This type of production is best suitable for nut bolts, bearings, soaps, toothpaste etc. because these products are mass consumable products in the market. There is always demand for these products. Shipment time is always less for these products. Make to stock production ensures proper delivery, good quality, reasonable price of the goods. 2. Make to order production- In this type of production, the final product is made only after receiving the order from the customer. There is no stock of such products in this type. For example, The caterer who make food at weddings or at family functions. He cannot go for make to stock production. He can start his production only after getting the order for the customer. Obviously, there is no stock maintained for the final product, so that delivery time may be somewhat long as compared with make to stock production. This type of production depends upon the working strategy and design of the final product. One important point to remember regarding make to order production system, although there is no stock of the final product the manufacturer always maintain the proper stock of standard raw materials required to produce the final product. 3. Assembly to order production- In this type of production system, the small components of the final product are maintained in stock. When an order comes from the customer then these small components are assembled and the final product is delivered to the customer as soon as possible. In such cases, the customer doesn’t wait until the new product is made. The examples of the assembly to order production are automobiles, electronics, computers, etc. 4. Job shop production/Job order production- Job shop production system is best suitable in such cases where a variety of product is more and the quantity of product is less. Each job demands a unique technique for production, unique operational sequence, also a unique design of the product. The best example of this production system is ship making. Every ship has a different shape, a different design which requires different production techniques and different sequence of operation. 5. Batch production:- In a batch type of production, the limited number of products are produced at regular intervals and stocked awaiting sales. Here the organization produces a different type of products. The shop produces the product in large quantity and stores it in the form of inventory to satisfy customers demand and shift production to other product. When the stock depletes again new batch production starts. The manufacturing equipment used in this type of production is also general-purpose machinery which is designed to produce a high quantity of products. Production may vary from few components to thousands. The quantity of products in batch production is decided based on the balance of two costs. i.e. installation cost and inventory carrying cost. Let us take an example of cricket bat production, This organization makes cricket bats in batch production and makes the stock awaiting to increase in the for this product in the market. Generally, the demand for this product is more on holiday seasons. 6. Mass production:- The manufacturer goes with this production system when there is a continuous demand for his product. For example, The wafers or potato chips manufacturers. For this product, there is always a good demand in the market for all the time so the manufacturers select mass production type to produce their final product. In this case, the manufacturer requires automated and special purpose machines. In the mass production system, the flexibility of producing a different product is very very less so the variety of product is less but the quantity produced is always more. 8. Cellular production: The cellular production is based upon group technology. In cellular production groups of parts that have similar processing requirements are grouped into one parts family. It simply means that, consider the facing operation. The components which require facing operation are all grouped together which gives the part family of facing operation. After the parts are divided into families, a cell created that includes all the equipment, facilities, and human skills required. This seeks to achieve superior performance. In cellular manufacturing, the team is completely responsible for organizing work within the cell. Based upon the due date the team members schedule the work. Cellular manufacturing combines the advantage of a job shop to obtain high variety possible with a job and also reduces cost. Thanks and regards, Basic Engineering

For eg, we are hungry which can be fulfilled by Domino's pizza. So that "Domino's Pizza" is the Demand. Next question that may strike is "What are the various types of Demand" 1. Non-existent Demand : Demand which never existed. For eg blackberry phone which will not be consumed by anyone. There is no demand but marketers are creaing product for them. 2. Latent Demand : Demand which is not fulfilled by any product in the market. 3. Declining Demand : Demand which falls with time period. Micromax phones are the perfect examples. 4. Irregular Demand : Keeps fluctuating, like AC,demand is more in summers than winters 5. Full Demand : You can think of one plus 3T phones here. ;) Demand is always at hike 6. Over Full Demand : Demand is more than the products made. For eg Mi Powerbank, people in need are more than the number of products launched. Watch this video to learn more. Types Of Chemical Reactions - Synthesis Reactions, Decomposition Reactions, And Exchange Reactions
In this video we discuss the different types of chemical reactions that take place in the body, We cover synthesis, decomposition, exchange and reversible reactions. Transcript/notes Chemical reactions Chemical reactions are interactions between atoms and molecules, which involve the formation or breaking of chemical bonds, and are usually characterized by a chemical change. There are 3 main types of chemical reactions that are important in anatomy and physiology, synthesis reactions, decomposition reactions and exchange reactions. In synthesis reactions, 2 or more substances, which are referred to as reactants combine to form a more complex substance called a product. In synthesis reactions, new bonds are formed and energy is required for the reaction to occur and the new product to form. These types of reactions occur regularly in the body. The formula for this type of reaction is reactant a plus reactant b, produce product ab, with the required energy. An example of this is when amino acid reactants combine to form more complex protein products. Decomposition reactions are when more complex substances break down to form simpler substances. In decomposition reactions, bonds are broken down and energy is released. This energy can be in the form of heat or it can be captured and stored for future use. The formula for this is substance ab breaks down to a plus b plus energy. An example of this is when a complex nutrient is broken down in a cell to release energy for the cell to use for its other cellular functions. Decomposition and synthesis reactions are often coupled together in that the energy released from the decomposition reaction can be used for a synthesis reaction. An exchange reaction is when 2 different reactants exchange components to form 2 new products. An exchange reaction is often written as reactant ab plus reactant cd lead to product ad plus product cb. Exchange reactions basically decompose 2 compounds and synthesize 2 new compounds. An example of this is the reaction of lactic acid and sodium bicarbonate. H dot lactate represents lactic acid and nahco3 represents sodium bicarbonate. Decomposition and synthesis occurs and we have sodium lactate represented by na dot lactate and carbonic acid represented by h dot hco3. One note, many synthesis, decomposition and exchange reactions are reversible reactions in that they are reversible. Many times this is written as a plus b, arrow pointing in both directions and ab.
