Simplified DBA-014- Database Architecture Physical and Logical Explained

05:00
A database storage structure could be divided into logical and physical structure. Physical structure consists of files on physical disks while logical structure resides in the database. Both can be managed separately. Each database is logically divided into two or more tablespaces. One or more data files are explicitly created for each tablespace to physically store the data. A database is divided into logical storage units called tablespaces, which group related logical structures or datafiles together. For example, tablespaces commonly group all of an application’s segments to simplify some administrative operations. At the finest level of granularity, an Oracle database’s data is stored in data blocks. One data block corresponds to a specific number of bytes of physical space on the disk. A data block size is specified for each tablespace when it is created. A database uses and allocates free database space in Oracle data blocks. When you create a table, a segment is created with the same name in the tablespace. This segment has one or more Extents of equal size. Each Extent has Oracle Data Blocks as per tablespace definition. A data block could be of size 8K, 16K, 32K, 64K etc.

PLS-4: PL/SQL Variables

24:47
For Full Course Experience Please Go To http://mentorsnet.org/course_preview?course_id=5 Full Course Experience Includes 1. Access to course videos and exercises 2. View & manage your progress/pace 3. In-class projects and code reviews 4. Personal guidance from your Mentors ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A variable is nothing but a name given to a storage area that our programs can manipulate. Each variable in PL/SQL has a specific data type, which determines the size and layout of the variable's memory; the range of values that can be stored within that memory and the set of operations that can be applied to the variable. The name of a PL/SQL variable consists of a letter optionally followed by more letters, numerals, dollar signs, underscores, and number signs and should not exceed 30 characters. By default, variable names are not case-sensitive. You cannot use a reserved PL/SQL keyword as a variable name. PL/SQL programming language allows to define various types of variables, which we will cover in subsequent chapters like date time data types, records, collections, etc. For this chapter, let us study only basic variable types. With PL/SQL you can declare variables and then use them in SQL and procedural statements anywhere that an expression can be used. Variables can be used for the following: • Temporary storage of data: Data can be temporarily stored in one or more variables for use when validating data input and for processing later in the data flow process. • Manipulation of stored values: Variables can be used for calculations and other data manipulations without accessing the database. • Reusability: After they are declared, variables can be used repeatedly in an application simply by referencing them in other statements, including other declarative statements. • Ease of maintenance: When using %TYPE and %ROWTYPE (more information on %ROWTYPE is covered in a subsequent lesson), you declare variables, basing the declarations on the definitions of database columns. If an underlying definition changes, the variable declaration changes accordingly at run time. This provides data independence, reduces maintenance costs, and allows programs to adapt as the database changes to meet new business needs. More information on %TYPE is covered later in this lesson. Types of Variables" All PL/SQL variables have a data type, which specifies a storage format, constraints, and valid range of values. PL/SQL supports four data type categories—scalar, composite, reference, and LOB (large object)—that you can use for declaring variables, constants, and pointers. • Scalar data types hold a single value. The main data types are those that correspond to column types in Oracle server tables; PL/SQL also supports Boolean variables. • Composite data types, such as records, allow groups of fields to be defined and manipulated in PL/SQL blocks. • Reference data types hold values, called pointers, that designate other program items. Reference data types are not covered in this course. • LOB data types hold values, called locators, that specify the location of large objects (such as graphic images) that are stored out of line. LOB data types are discussed in detail later in this course.

Design forms that use a number of data sources, including Oracle databases 2. Build application quickly and easily by using powerful GUI development tools 3. Design applications for Internet deployment 4. Copy and move objects and their properties easily between applications 5. Use design features such as wizards, the layout Editor, Object Navigator and PL/SQL Editor. Forms Builder Components: Layout Editor The Layout Editor is a graphical design facility for creating and arranging interface items and graphical objects in your application. You can use the tool palette and the toolbar available in the Layout Editor to design the style, color, size and arrangement of visual objects in the application. The layout can include Graphical Objects and images. Form Builder Components: PL/SQL Editor The PL/SQL Editor enables you to incorporate PL/SQL code objects into your form.Code Object in forms Developer includes event triggers, sub programs, menu item commands, menu startup code and package. You enter and compile code in the PL/SQL Editor. You will learn more about the PL/SQL Editor in the later tutorial when you use it code triggers in Forms Builder. Getting Started in the From Builder Interface 1.Start Forms Builder 2.Connect to the database Forms Builder: Menu Structure Navigating the Forms Builder Main Menu The Forms Builder main menu contains options that enable you to create, modify, and manage you form modules. Native GUI Interface The menu shown in the slide depicts the Windows NT enviroment. Howerver, menus appear with the same look and and feel of your native GUI interface. Blocks, Items and Canvases 1.Items: These are interface objects that present data values to the user or enable the user to interact with the form , depending upon the item type. there are several types of items.Items are logically grouped into blocks and visibly arranged on canvases. 2.Blocks: A block is the intermediate building unit for forms. Each form consists of one or more blocks.A block is the logical owner of items, and each item in a form belongs to a block. Items in one block are logically related.Blocks, therefore, provide a mechanism for grouping related items into a functional unit for storing, displaying, and manipulating records. canvases: A canvas is a surface where visual objects, such as graphics and items, are arranged.A form module can have several canvases.A from module can have several canvases.A canvas can display items froms one or more blocks. To see a canvas and its items, you must display the canvas in a window.by default, all canvases in a form appear in the same window, but you can assign separate windows for each canvas so that several canvases can be viewed at once.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now El Giza, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. Its sides climb at an angle of slightly less than 52 degrees, rising to a summit of 480 feet. But how did they manage to manoeuvre 2.5 tonne blocks to such an incredible height without the crane or the block and tackle system? It was a challenge to the ancient Egyptians and still remains a mystery to modern archaeologists. Clip taken from the Naked Science documentary “Pyramids”. Watch it here - http://youtu.be/FnMCIrKRkQM

See NicTaylor00's Hunting Channel on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/TexasNative00 I find removing the tapper pins that hold on the triangle shaped front sight on the AR-15 rifle to be one of the toughest jobs out there. In this video I will demonstrate how you can do it with no specialized tools. However, the rest of the dis-assembly for putting on the new free float hand guards will require a couple of basic AR15 tools. I tried to make this video as basic as possible knowing that most AR variant carbine owners do not have all the cool armory tools that most guns smiths do. See part 2 for the actual install of the new free float hand guards for this dedicated 22LR upper.
