Oracle 11g Streams: Two-Database Replication Environment with Synchronous Captures

11:47
Use this configuration when you want to configure a relatively simple replication environment that only involves two databases and a small number of tables. You might also choose to use synchronous captures if you have Oracle Database 11g Standard Edition. To use capture processes, you must have Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition.

Continuent Webinar: Real-time Data Loading from Oracle and MySQL into Kafka

36:39
Apache Kafka has become an amazing conduit for getting data from one place to another, and also a surprisingly effective method of distributing data across servers and into alternatively database solutions such as Hadoop. Now that we can replicate data from Oracle and MySQL into Kafka, a whole variety of potential solutions are available to us. In this webinar, we’re going to look at the following features of the new Kafka applier: • Basic operation and deployments • Using replicator for concentration and dissemination to multiple targets • Kafka functionality and options • Filtering and massaging data during replication • Real-time and low-latency • Future features and plans Learn more at www.continuent.com

Getting Started with PL/SQL Table Functions 3: Streaming Table Functions

16:39
Streaming table functions are functions executed in the FROM clause of a query as part of a sequence of data transformations, all occurring within a single SQL statement. This video shows how to define a streaming table function and use it in Oracle SQL. Part of the Getting Started with PL/SQL Table Functions class at the Oracle Dev Gym: https://devgym.oracle.com/pls/apex/dg/class/pl-sql-table-functions.html ======================================== Practically Perfect PL/SQL with Steven Feuerstein Copyright © 2018 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Streaming Database Changes with Debezium by Gunnar Morling

48:25
"Debezium (noun | de·be·zi·um | /dɪ:ˈbɪ:ziːəm/) - secret ingredient for change data capture" Updating caches and full-text indexes, synchronizing data between microservices, maintaining different read models in a CRQS-style architecture, feeding operational data to your analytics tools -- just a few use cases which benefit so much from streaming the changes from your datastore. In this session, you’ll learn what change data capture (CDC) is about and how it can be implemented using Debezium, an open-source CDC solution based on Apache Kafka. Find out how Debezium captures all the changes from datastores such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, how to react to the change events in near real time, and how Debezium is designed to not compromise on data correctness and completeness also if things go wrong. Gunnar Morling is a software engineer and open-source enthusiast by heart. He’s leading the Debezium project, a tool for change data capture (CDC). As part of the Hibernate team, he contributes to Hibernate Search, OGM and Validator. Gunnar is the spec lead for Bean Validation 2.0 (JSR 380). In his spare time he leads the MapStruct project. Prior to joining Red Hat, he worked on a wide range of Java EE projects in the logistics and retail industries. He’s based in Hamburg, Germany.

Try KSQL: https://confluent.io/ksql | This video explains the difference between a STREAM and TABLE, shows a detailed example, and explains how streaming queries are unbounded. KSQL is an open source, Apache 2.0 licensed streaming SQL engine that implements continuous, interactive queries against Apache Kafka®. KSQL makes it easy to read, write, and process streaming data in real-time, at scale, using SQL-like semantics. This offers an easy way to express stream processing transformations as an alternative to writing an application in Java or Python. KSQL provides capabilities such as streaming joins, aggregations, event-time windowing, and more! How to Replicate Streaming Data Across Data Centers with MapR Streams | Whiteboard Walkthrough

04:00
In this Whiteboard Walkthrough Jorge Geronimo, Solutions Architect at MapR, explains how with a single line of code you can create a replica of a MapR data stream within the same cluster or to another cluster even in another part of the world. Jorge also describes multi master replication for streaming data and how MapR Streams' unique capability for geo-distributed replication with preserved offsets offers advantages for working with streaming data. Editor's Note: In replication of data streams across data centers using MapR Streams, consumers can fail over from one site to another. In addition, the system will break replication loops. For more detail on these aspects of geo-distributed replication with MapR Streams, see "MapR Streams Under the Hood" https://www.mapr.com/blog/mapr-streams-under-hood-whiteboard-walkthrough Additional resources on MapR Streams include: Streaming Architecture Chapter 5 ihttps://www.mapr.com/ebooks/streaming-architecture/chapter-05-mapr-streams-overview.html “Getting Started with MapR Streams” tutorial and sample programshttps://www.mapr.com/blog/getting-started-sample-programs-mapr-streams
