http://tourvideos.com/ Rome to London by train, featuring the best of Italy, Switzerland, France and England. Jump to the different cities or watch it all: Rome at 2:34; Florence at 8:43; Venice at 16:53; Lucerne at 22:42; Paris at 27:50; London at 34:10; Comments at 44:39 Rome highlights include lunch at Campo dei Fiori and a walking tour to the Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museum and St. Peters, best of Europe. Florence is always listed in the world’s top-ten places to visit because of the Renaissance tradition we still see in the architecture, and the overall beauty of the city, not to mention great restaurants. Our walking tour with local guide brings us to the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and across the Arno River to Oltrarno. We also enjoy steak at il Porcospino, a favorite restaurant, with a most friendly waiter, Franco. Venice is the city of dreams, a place like no other, with water for streets and boats for cars. Our several walking tours bring us into the heart of town including: Rialto, San Marco, the Basilica, hidden restaurants, and of course, a gondola ride. Lucerne is an ideal town to visit on your trip through Switzerland, with a lovely pedestrian zone, historic buildings in the typical style, waterfront cafes and views, and nearby mountains including Titlis, which we ascend in this journey. Paris, perhaps the world’s most beautiful city, including: TGV arrival, walk to the Opera, Chartier dinner, stroll to Rue Montorgueil, open-top bus tour, Versailles, the Louvre, Latin Quarter and more… London, capital of England, is our globe-trotting filmmaker’s favorite city, and this summary demonstrates why this city is so compelling. We bring you all over the center of town, including Soho, Covent Garden, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Burlington Arcade, Fortnum & Mason, Changing the Guard, open-top bus tour, Inns of Court, The City and the Tower of London. Comments: An ideal Europe trip should include the major cities of London, Paris and Rome, along with a look at Switzerland in Lucerne, and the other greatest of Italian places, Florence and Venice. We summarize the journey with comments from our travelers about their favorites and general feelings about the trip, travelling by train and staying in each city for several days.

Tickets from Paris to Milan or Turin start at just €29 - for information or to buy tickets online see https://www.seat61.com/Paris-to-Milan-by-TGV-train.htm A beginner's guide to travel from Paris to Turin or Milan by high-speed TGV train, showing the train interior & exterior, the scenery and the food on board. Three daily French TGVs link Paris Gare de Lyon with Turin and Milan, from €29 one-way booked direct with French Railways. The video shows the 14:41 from Paris arriving Turin 20:13, Milan Porta Garibaldi at 21:50, with an easy connection from London St Pancras by Eurostar. The video was taken in June, and there was still snow on the highest peaks - the weather wasn't great on this occasion, overcast with brooding clouds, the route looks far better in proper summer sun or winter snow! Fans of BBC Top Gear may recognise a shot or two in this video - I supplied a few clips to the Beeb for their Wembley to Milan TGV-versus-Mustang 'race' first shown in February 2013.

A pleasant trip from St. Pancras Station in London took two and half hours to reach Paris aboard the Eurostar train. The English Channel separates the United Kingdom and France but the Eurotunnel underneath the sea shortens travel time. Here's one of the many videos I took on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

We did a 1-night excursion to Amsterdam from Paris, and decided to book a Thalys train between the cities...about a 3.5 hour ride with 3 stops before arriving in Amsterdam. Overall, a great option to travel between the cities (much shorter if you're going from Paris to Brussels). Seats are wide and comfy, there's a food/drink car, & a quiet scenic ride. Since this video was made the sleeper train has been speeded up to leave Cologne at 21:21 rather than 20:05 - so sunset will happen earlier. But the Rhine Valley looks great on a moonlit night! We took the last train out from Paris Gare Du Nord to London St Pancras, on the Eurostar. We had arrived in Paris that very morning from London, also from the Eurostar, on a day trip. We arrived at Gare Du Nord in good time, though we were a bit confused at first as it was a huge station and frankly there were no signs telling us where the Eurostar terminal was. We were looking at train departures and could see our train either. Fortunately a passerby pointed us in the correct direction and we found it. We had to take an escalator up stairs to the correct entrance. Clearing security and immigration was quite smooth and fast. Then we found ourselves in a very nice waiting area for Eurostar Passengers, called the London Hall. This video shows you what the London Hall looks like. Most passengers came early, and some were having food and drink before the 2hour plus ride back to London. See this video for our morning trip to Paris Gare Du Nord, where we took an early train from London to Paris for our day trip. The fastest I saw the train go was 299km/h. https://youtu.be/xPHRX3iZY1o

Inspired by Joanna Lumley's epic journey, we decided to take the train all the way from our local railway station in Sussex, to Hong Kong. It's just six trains and certainly one of the most beautiful journeys we think you can do. It's hard travelling, but we've been very fortunate to have seen a little more of the world, some wonderful people and experiences that we'll cherish forever. We hope our short film tells a bit of our story. Enjoy.

You're likely going to be a lot faster taking the train from London to Paris compared with flying. I will show you how to travel from London to Hong Kong by train in 9 days. You should start by taking the Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Paris North. Tickets can be bought from the Eurostar website in the form of etickets. While there are loads of trains every day, you should set off on a Thursday to match the timing of the next few trains of your journey. Try to arrive at Paris early in the afternoon and you should have a few hours to have some afternoon tea before you proceed to Paris East for your next train. The second step will be to take the sleeper train from Paris to Moscow. This is a weekly service that departs from Paris on Thursdays only, and you will be spending 2 nights on the train. The train will depart from the Paris East Station just before 7pm, passing through Germany, Poland and Belarus before arriving at the Moscow Belorussky Station just before 11am on Saturday, when Daylight Saving Time is in effect, and 12pm when DST is not in effect.. Tickets can be bought directly from the official website of Russian Railways in form of etickets, which can be printed at home at your own leisure, thus saving you the often expensive commission charged by travel agents. Afterwards, you have to head over to the Yaroslavsky station and board the trans-Siberian Rossiya (or maybe Vostok) train, scheduled to depart just before midnight to Beijing. This is one of two weekly trains linking the capitals of Russia and China. Unlike the Train 4 more popular with travel bloggers, this train does not pass through Mongolia and enters China via the northeastern border city of Manzhouli. This journey lasts one day longer than the one via Mongolia, and you will have to spend a whopping 7 nights on the train! Unless the previous 2 trains, tickets for this train are only sold in paper form. The Russian Railways website can be used to check how many seats are available on this train service, but cannot be used to buy tickets. Assuming that you don’t live in Russia, you can only buy the tickets through travel agents. One of the more reputable agents is Real Russia, who can post the tickets straight to your home. Of course, be prepared to pay a 30% commission in addition to the face value of the tickets! After passing through numerous Russian cities like Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude, you will eventually arrive in Beijing early in the morning just before 6am on the following Saturday. You are now on the final stretch. There are high speed trains from Beijing to Hong Kong every day. The train departs from Beijing West Station at 10 in the morning and will reach Hong Kong just before 7pm. Assuming that you are not a Chinese citizen, tickets can be booked online at Trip.com using your passport for a nominal booking fee and be collected at any train station in China. Since time may be tight, you should quickly take the subway to the Beijing West Station. You will have to go through ticket and security checks before you can board the train, and there are often long queues. Therefore it may be a good idea to start the process an hour before the train departs. If you arrive at the station early, there may even be time to get some breakfast. Once the high speed train arrives at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, simply clear both Chinese and Hong Kong immigration and you are home free! Overall, it will take a total of 9 days to complete this journey. If you have a lot of time and money to spare, feel free to give this a try. As for me, I’d rather take a direct flight with Cathay Pacific! One more thing of note are the visa requirements of this trip. If you have a British passport, you should apply for a transit visa to Belarus and entry visas to Russia and China before setting off. On the other hand, if you have a Hong Kong passport like me, you can travel the entire journey visa-free!
