How To Add A Login Button To Menu In Wordpress (No Coding Required)

04:11
Here’s the easiest way to add a login button to your menu navigation in wordpress. It requires absolutely no coding and is simple to create. Do you want to add a login button to your menu bar like this one that someone can click and it takes them to the login page where they can enter their details and log in? Well, in this tutorial I am going to show you how to add a login button to your menu in WordPress with absolutely no coding required: no PHP, no CSS, no HTML, none of that sort of stuff. So the first thing you need to do is to log in to the backend of your WordPress website. To do that go to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin but replace yourwebsite.com with your actual website address. So for me it is my.melee.co/wp-admin and log in and that will bring you to the dashboard. You now need to install the plugin theme MY Login which has a lot of functionality. But the one that we want is the ability to create that login button. To add the plugin simply go to plugins on the left-hand side and click on add new. Then type theme My Login into the search bar and click enter. Simply find the theme My Login plugin, click the install now button and once it is installed you can go ahead and click to activate it. You now need to add your login page to your menu. And to do that simply go to appearance and menus. You can choose the menus that you want to edit or you can go ahead and create a new menu if you wish. We want to look at the pages and we want to find the login page under the most recent section. So we can see login here, tick it and then click add to menu. We can see that the login page has now been created so let us go ahead and save that menu. The next step is to activate the menu if it is not activated already. And to do that go to appearance and down to customize. And this will look a little bit different for every theme but you want to find the menu section. You want to find the menu location and you can then put in the menu that you were just editing. I am going to put it into the primary navigation. You can put it into the secondary navigation or whatever is available for you. Once you have done that, go ahead and click save and publish. Now if I go to my website I can see that the login actually does not exist here and that is one of the awesome things about this plugin. ------------------------------------------ http://pelt.co/14 - View the full transcription and audio version of this episode.

4 Places To Edit WordPress CSS | WP Learning Lab

08:08
Grab Your Free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL 4 Places To Edit WordPress CSS | WP Learning Lab To edit WordPress CSS you first need to know all the places you can find CSS. There are 4 common places. You may not have all these locations on your website because some of them are theme-dependent. The possible CSS locations are: 1. The WordPress theme or child theme stylesheet (this one you have for sure) 2. The theme options panel (this one you may or may not have) 3. A CSS editor on each page and post (this one you may or may not have) 4. Inline CSS applied directly to HTML elements on the page (this one you will have only if you're written it) Let's go through each one. The WordPress theme or child theme stylesheet When inside your WordPress dashboard if you click on Appearance then Editor you will be able to edit theme or child theme files. Usually the style.css is loaded first by default. If it's not loaded find the style.css file in the list of files on the right side of the editor page. When you find it, click on it. That will open the CSS file in WordPress editor. At this point you can make edits to the file and click on the Update button to save your changes. How to actually code CSS is beyond the scope of this tutorial, but you can check out my CSS channel over here (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeFLITjl2v9vtIkftw9UMsw) The danger in editing CSS directly in the stylesheet of the main theme is that what you create may be over written when the theme updates. You get around this problem by creating a child theme (see a tutorial on how to create a WordPress child theme here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8n1h-85SMQ). The theme options panel Not every theme has a theme options panel, but the ones that do make WordPress CSS so much easier to edit. You can simply add CSS to the CSS box in the theme options and click save changes. The upside is that theme updates won't erase the CSS code you create. A CSS editor on each page and post Some themes, like Avada and Divi, give you the option of insert CSS code right into the individual posts and pages of your website. This is great for CSS that you want to be only one page. I would only recommend doing this if you're putting more than 100 lines of CSS into the page. If it's less than 100 lines of CSS you're better to put into the main stylesheet so you stay organized. If it's more than 100 lines of CSS code that only need to exist on one page then your site will load a little bit faster overall by not loading all that CSS into every page. Inline CSS The last place in our list and the last place you'd want to create CSS code is right in your HTML elements. This is called inline CSS and can be difficult to work with for two big reasons. First, you can't apply the CSS to more than one element at a time. So if you want to style all the paragraphs on the page in the same way you have to apply the same CSS code over and over again to each p tag. This is a pain to administer and will result in larger than needed page sizes. Second, if you add inline CSS to lots of pages it will be come difficult to remember what CSS you applied where. Then trying to find it an make edits will become a pain. Inline CSS also takes precedent over CSS in the stylesheet. So you might be make changes to CSS in the stylesheet, but nothing is happening on the page. You'll go through a frustrating few minutes before you figure out the CSS is actually inline on the page. I hope this information helps you! How to Add Custom Fonts in WordPress Manually and Using a Plugin

06:58
Are you looking to customize the font on your WordPress site to make its design exactly how you like? Not all themes have a built in method to edit the font of your site and you may be looking to change this. In this video, we will show you how to add custom fonts to your WordPress site. Font Pair website: https://fontpair.co For selecting the fonts to use on your site you can use the Font Pair website for what would work well together and then you can visit the Google Fonts website at: https://fonts.google.com Select the fonts you want to add and there should be a new section at the bottom of the page where you can see the fonts you selected to add to your WordPress site. Expand that area and ensure you are under the Embed section for the correct code that you will need to add to your header. For adding the code you would want to use the plugin Insert Headers and Footers found here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/ Under Settings, Insert Headers and Footers you will add the first set of code to add the fonts to your site. With that added and saved you will want to go under Appearance, Customize, Additional CSS and there you would be able to add the second code which lets the font be visible to you and your visitors. A second method would be using the Easy Google Fonts plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-google-fonts/ The plugin will add a new section under Appearance, Typography and there you will be able to select the font to use for each style location. We would still recommend only two fonts to prevent confusing your users. Our third method for this would be the plugin Typekit Fonts for WordPress: https://wordpress.org/plugins/typekit-fonts-for-wordpress/ With that plugin, you would be able to select fonts from the Typekit website, add the ID from the popup, and select where you want the custom font for your WordPress site to appear in your Appearance, Customize, Additional CSS section. How to Create a Custom Login Page for WordPress

06:08
Do you want to create a custom login page for your WordPress site? A custom login page lets you customize the page for users to sign up for your site instead of using the default WordPress login page. In this article, we will show you how to create a custom login page for WordPress without writing any code. For the first method in our video, we will be using the Theme My Login plugin found here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login With that installed and activated the plugin will attempt to use your theme's styling to create a login page. You can customize the plugin's settings under the TML settings area. This allows you to allow custom emails and even redirection through the plugin. For our second method, we will be using the premium version of WPForms found here: https://wpforms.com You will be given a zip file that you would upload under Plugins, Add New, and click the upload button at the top of the page. Activate the plugin and it will take you to the WPForms welcome page. Activate the product key for the site and in the addons area, we will activate the user registration addon. With the plugin and it's addon active, create a new form, name it, and create a new User Login Form. By default it will have a username and password field set up for use and in the settings you can decide where the user goes after logging in. All you need to do now is go to a page, add any customizations you would like, and then click the add form button to select and insert the code for your form to appear on that page when you publish it. How to Create a Menu in Wordpress

04:56
Make Your WordPress Website in 10 Mins ➜ https://youtu.be/YWA-xbsJrVg Watch How you can Add a Menu in WordPress, (including creating a Drop-Down Menu) Menus in WordPress are a great navigation tool which allows users to freely browse through the content of your website without any confusion. WordPress menus are essential in development of a website which provides structure to your website by arranging the content in an organized manner. Now, in our previous video, you learned - How to Make a Website in 10 minutes. Now, let’s see, How you can change the Menu of that WordPress Website. To do this, you can follow these 3 steps (with timestamps) 1. Delete Existing Menu ( 00:40 ) 2. Adding a New Menu ( 01:05) 3. Creating A Drop-Down Menu ( 03: 49) Let’s get started. Step 1: Delete Existing Menu To delete the existing Menu, First go to your WordPress Dashboard and then click the ‘Customize’ option. Under Customize, Select ‘Menus’ Here, you’ll find that there is already a Menu called “Top Navigation”. So, when you click this Menu, you’ll see the items that is there in it. Now, this menu can be deleted by clicking the ‘Delete Menu’ button at the bottom part of the screen. Once done, the Menu will be removed. Step 2: Add a New Menu Now to Create a New Menu, First Click ‘Create New Menu’ button. Next, you need to give a name of your choice for the new menu. For example, you can enter the name as ‘Top Menu’ and once done, you need to choose where the Menu should appear on your website. Based on the WordPress theme you’re using, you can place the Menu on different areas of your website. Each theme will provide different options on where the Menu can be placed. Example: With the Astra theme, we’re using, it shows primary and secondary menu. So, if you select the Primary Menu then it will place the menu on the top right corner of your website. After choosing, you can click ‘Next’. Then, you can start adding items to the Menu. Here, you’ll find the pages section where all the pages that you’ve in your website will be shown. Now, If you want to see the pages and its content, you can go to your WordPress Dashboard and Click ‘Pages’. So, the pages which you see here will be shown in your menu items. So, To add the pages to the Menu, Press the ‘Add Symbol’ and the page will be added to the Menu. Similarly, you can add the other pages also. After you’ve added the items, you’ll be able to see your menu. Now, you can change the order of the menu items by dragging an item and placing it where you want. Doing this will change the order of the menu items. So Next, let’s see how you can add a brand new page to the menu which is not on your site yet. So, to add a brand new page to the menu, all you need to do is, enter the name of the page you want to create and then click ‘add’ to get it into the menu. After adding, You can now click ‘publish’ to see your NEW MENU. However, since you’ve created a new page, it will be blank by default. So, You can later add the content to this new page by clicking ‘Edit’ option in Pages. Step 3: Create Drop down Menu Here, let’s see how you can create a drop down Menu. Drop Menu is a very effective way to categorize the content and showcase them independently. A drop down menu can be easily created by just dragging an item in the Menu and putting it below another item. After doing this, you can see that you have a drop down menu created. Repeat the same process whenever you want to create various drop down menu. So now you know how you can add the pages you’ve created to your drop down menu. That’s it! This is how easily you can Create A New Menu or Create Drop down Menu in WordPress. You are able to use the plugin's default login stylesheet to style your login as well as whether username, email, or either is used for logging in. It allows you to send custom emails from WordPress for when your users receive emails from your WordPress site. There are also redirect options for when users login how you would like to redirect them. Once logged in you can set it so users have custom links to traverse your site in the login widget while logged in. There are security options for your login in terms of private logins, if you want your site to be private, and the allowed number of login attempts.
WordPress Plugin: Styles with Shortcodes

06:03
So you've been back about forth about which premium WordPress theme to use, can't decide. This one has that feature, that one has this feature. One feature you'd really like is shortcodes. I kept trying to make sure themes had shortcodes built in and when they did, great, lucky me. But they don't all have them and I am starting to see the power of short codes. I needed some columns in a site (2 and 3 columns) and I had done some custom short code wrangling, but it still meant code (even if bracketed shortcode) in the WP admin that I had to paste in. No more. Check out Styles with Shortcodes.

How To Get WordPress Posts To Page - Displaying Posts On A Page | WP Learning Lab

Grab Your Free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL Download our exclusive 10-Point WP Hardening Checklist: http://bit.ly/10point-wordpress-hardening-checklist How To Get WordPress Posts To Page - Displaying Posts On A Page | WP Learning Lab This is one of those things that all beginners want to be able to do and it seems like it should be easy. Luckily, it actually is easy to do if you know how to do it :) There are two ways to make this happen. One is to set the blog page and the other is to add categories to the navigation menus which displays all the posts in the category. Let's do the first one first, setting the blog page to display posts on a specific page. First, you have to make sure that you create a page called Blog by going to Page then Add New. Type Blog into the title field and click on Publish. Now go to Settings then Reading Settings in the WordPress Admin area. At the top you will see a "Front page displays" section where you choose the "static page" option. Then for the Post Page drop down choose the Blog page you just created. You will also have to choose a Front Page to make this work. Then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Now your posts will appear on the "Blog" page you created a few earlier. Another easy option is to display posts on a category page. On all of the posts you create you have the option of setting a Category for the post. You can then go to Appearance, then Menus and add that specific category to any navigation menu you have on your site. When someone clicks on the category link in the nav they will be taken to that category page where it displays all the posts in that category. I hope this information helps you! Change WordPress Font-Size Using Theme Options or CSS | WP Learning Lab

07:18
Grab Your Free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL Download your exclusive 10-Point WP Hardening Checklist: http://bit.ly/10point-wordpress-hardening-checklist Change WordPress Font-Size Using Theme Options or CSS | WP Learning Lab Changing WordPress Font-size is done in the theme options panel or with CSS. Once you know where to make the changes in your theme it is easy to do. As with a lot of things in Wordpress, where you do things depends on the theme you're using and the plugins you're running. First, always check to see if your theme has theme options. If it does then you should be able to find a typography tab to edit font sizes. Sometimes font sizes will be found in the general settings of the theme options. The theme options will be found either under the Appearance menu in the left hand side admin menu or there will be special menu item that the them itself added. If your theme doesn't have theme options, then you're next stop should be the customizer. Some themes have a lot of WordPress Customizer support. Go to Appearance then Customizer to see if you can edit font sizes there. If both of those are a no-go then you're left with going to directly to the stylesheet to change font sizes. This is method is great if you have some CSS knowledge. To find your stylesheet go to Appearance then Editor. The stylesheet will be the first thing to appear in the editor. If, for some reason, it's not there, then find the style.css file in the list of theme files on the right and click it to open it in the editor. NOTE: You should be edit stylesheet of a child theme only. If you edit the parent theme stylesheet directly then your edits could be overwritten when you update the them. Here's a tutorial on how to create a child theme if you need it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8n1h-85SMQ Now that you have the CSS stylesheet open in the editor you will need to find the font styles. The easiest way to do this is go to your main site and find the fonts that you want to edit. If you're using Google Chrome or Firefox right click on the text and choose the "inspector" or "inspect" from the context menu. If you're not using Google Chrome or Firefox then start using them. In the inspector that opens at the bottom of the page you should see the text highlighted in the main area and the class of the element on the right. You can type styles right into the element on the right hand side to quickly test to see how big you want the font to be. This doesn't save it permanently. What you see is only in your browser and as soon as you refresh the page you'll lose it. So, find the class for the text, find the right size and move that CSS rule in to the stylesheet for the child theme. Sometimes you'll have to fight with the existing CSS to make your font changes take effect. That's where a command link !important comes in very handy. If you type .h2 {font-size:10px !important;}. Having !important forces that style to take precedent over all others. It's a lazy way to code CSS, but unless you have time to find the conflicting styles, it's a fast and easy trick. I hope this information helps you! Contact Form 7 Tutorial - Create a 2-Column Responsive Form With Contact Form 7 Check out https://happyforms.me/ , it's a cool new form builder that you may like better than CF7 (and it's free!): HappyForms.me Exclusive for WPLearningLab viewers, up to 50% off hosting: https://wplearninglab.com/wordpress-hosting-offer/ Putting the contact form code into the YouTube description didn't make sense because YouTube doesn't allow pointy brackets, which there are a lot of in this code. So instead, you can find it here: https://wplearninglab.com/contact-form-7-2-column-responsive-form Below are the CSS styles I mention in the video: /*--- 2 Column Form Styles Start ---*/ #left { width: 47%; float: left; margin-right:6%; } #right { width: 47%; float: left; } .clearfix:after { content:"\0020"; display:block; height:0; clear:both; visibility:hidden; overflow:hidden; margin-bottom:10px; } .clearfix { display:block; } /*--- 2 Column Form Styles End ---*/ With over 1 million active downloads, the Contact Form 7 (https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/) plugin by Takayuki Miyoshi is one of the most popular contact form plugins around. And for good reason. It makes contact forms a breeze. In this Contact Form 7 tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a 2-column Responsive form using Contact Form 7. They key to creating a contact form using Contact Form 7 with two columns is the use of HTML Div tags and CSS floats. A regular WordPress contact form is nice, but the two columns really adds a bit of polish. First things first, if you haven't installed Contact Form 7 yet, let's do that. To install this plugin please log into your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins and then click on Add New. On the next page type "Contact Form 7" into the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one in the top left. Click on the Install Now button and then click Activate after it's installed. It will add a new menu item in the left hand admin menu called Contact Form. Hover over that click on Add New. You will taken to the new form creator. First enter a name for your contact form and then paste the HTML form code into the form editor. Next, click on the Mail tab to customize the email that is generated when the form is submitted. Make sure you add all of the available fields that are at the top of the Mail tab. Watch the video to see how to do this in detail. When you're done, click on Save Changes. Next, we need to add this form to a page. After saving a blue bar will appear at the top of the form editor. Inside that blue bar is the shortcode for your form. Copy that code. Now go to Pages, then Add New to create a new page OR find the page where your contact form needs to live. Inside the page editor paste the shortcode and click on Update to save the page. When you view the page, you will see a 1 column form. Now it's time to make it 2-column and responsive using CSS. Back inside the WordPress admin find a place where you can add custom CSS. Your theme may have a special spot in the Theme Options section or you may have a code insert plugin or you may have a plugin that allows you to add CSS directly to specific pages. However it is that you add CSS, do that. Just paste in the CSS and save. As long as you didn't change the HTML, your contact form 7 will now be 2 column responsive! And that's how easy it is to create a contact form WordPress. I hope this information helps you! Customize Wordpress - White Label CMS / Admin Menu Editor

11:51
http://digital-noir.com brings you website design Adelaide style. Have you heard? Website design Adelaide freelancers have been watching the Google news hoping their clients won't suffer. Why? Three reasons: -Relevancy -Google site layout algorithms -Website design Adelaide marketability The good old days of push-button website design are now considered old school. For starters, sites created with clunky site builders provided by companies like Godaddy or Wix no longer comply with Google standards. Sure they're easy to use. However, the issue is how your site is viewed by Google. Website Design Adelaide & Google website design adelaide"I don't get why it's so important to use WordPress," a client recently chanted. It's a good question. However, the writing on the wall is obvious when you dig deeper. If your site is built with a clunky CMS (content management system) your content won't meet the 500+ Google algorithm update standards per year. 500? You betcha. So you want your site structure to conform to the current code standard: HTML5. Doing so helps Google access and evaluate your content in seconds But that's just the beginning of website design Adelaide planning based on these new standards. It's a brave new world. We've all looked at website design Adelaide templates and loved them. But guess what? Beautiful design shouldn't be confused with industrial-strength architecture. Instead, appealing sites must be built with scale in mind for upgrade of code and functionality. Huh? Think of it this way: what works today will almost definitely unravel into madness in the coming months completely due to algorithm updates. So Google-compliant website design Adelaide site structure is what smart site owners are embracing to prepare for future updates. But why? That's what website design Adelaide companies keep groaning. Google algorithm updates weed out the crap sites so highly relevant ones can rank better. Build your site around them and you'll knock your competition into the dirt. Ignore them and you'll wonder why your site sits like a dead duck along the Murray River. Website Design Adelaide Madness: Relevancy? Another secret so many firms ignore is Google relevancy. Is your site content highly-relevant for your target keywords? Do you have target keywords? You better and they need to be researched with mission-critical precision. So if my content and site structure are relevant I will rank better? Bingo! But there's so much more. Website design Adelaide freelancers are quaking in their boots since the launch of Google Hummingbird algorithm launch this week. What does it mean? Changes. As in big, fat changes to the way they rank sites. Back in the day when we simply dropped keywords into your content to rank are over. Now it's more about building your website design Adelaide theme with Google standards. It's not difficult but comes with methodical planning. The Major Mistake & Website Design Adelaide Hosting. We've seen some clients invest heavily on the design they wanted but host their smoking hot new site on a lame server. Remember, those cheap hosting deals you see everywhere for $4.95 a month all come with a surprise. 2000 other sites on your server. Who cares right? You should. Slow hosting equals one thing: lost sales. Not to mention poor search engine rankings. A dirty little secret most website design Adelaide companies ignore is site speed and how it effects Google rankings. http://digital-noir.com and http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT0F2...
