I love your soothing voice and enthusiasm! Thank you for this video! I am just starting this technique, and I use a book instead of my hand placed on top. I love love love your idea of the doodling, and your ALF 😂😂😂 be blessed!
Vinita Morrison (15 days ago)
We used to do this at school about 30 years ago. If you put a heavy book on top instead of your hand, it is much more effective and easier.

It’s like a little surprise under each paper! When you’re pulling...I’m looking so hard at the paper, wondering what GIFT will be beneath! What a lovely experience!!! I’m an elementary teacher and I’m sharing this with our art teacher who LOVES new things like this!!!!
sign543 (16 days ago)
Okay, that is amazing! Seriously...I thought it would be awful when you lifted the paper...but it was a beautiful image! I am so doing this!!! ♥️♥️♥️
good video

Its better if you use a book to weigh it before pulling out the string. The outcome will be prettier
AC Lagua (18 days ago)
we do this when we were young..

It was so fun watching you try this. I was sharing your excitement as you revealed each design. I love your enthusiasm and imagination. Great video. I just cannot imagine why over 600 people gave this a thumbs down. I guess some people can never be happy. Sad for them. I loved this and can not wait to try it myself. Thanks for sharing your experience.🤩

Dear Marta, I adore you so very much! I often put your videos on when I am feeling sad, and alone, and anxiety. You help me feel better, in a some magical way, "Marta's Magical Way" ;*} And I'm so thankful for having access to you and your videos! This technique is so cool! Your pictures came out gorgeous! I will have to figure out what kind of liquid watercolors you are using here. I'm just not familiar with them. I am hoping I can make my own with tube watercolors. I have to try to make projects with the items I already own... often I don't have the supplies you use, and I'm sure that's true for so many of us. Which can be so fun when you find something that works, and it's not the same, but it's still cool. Or when you learn how to make a diy supply, I love that. And it can make you feel creative and resourceful, which is always awesome! I know you have some videos about these things, and also share your ideas about what could work if you don't own the supply, and that is just awesome too! There are so many supplies that I wish for...you understand, I'm sure. But, I am collecting art supplies gradually, and one day, I just know I will own enough supplies to make more of the lovely projects <3 Thank you, Love So Much, Beautiful Marta! <3 ~Stacey PS. I hope you and your family are doing very well :-) I'm about to watch your newer videos, I know I got a notification about your video where you share your shopping trip; I'm looking forward to that one :-) Gonna watch it right now :-) <3 XOXOXO <3

What kind of string did you use and can you use acrylics
5301elena1 (6 months ago)
Hello for me didn t work at all maybe is the paper or the string...i don't know. Could you help in this?
Heidi Marcotte (6 months ago)
you should use a book instead of your hand and pull it fast. i love it!
Cynthia Cler (6 months ago)
Try it with a book, place the paper and the string into a book and keep the book closed when you pull out the string. Use an old book in case you get ink on it. Just a suggestion

I love how you embellished your pulls, so creative. I did mine on a page in my art journal using acrylics spritzed with a little water and kite string. I closed the journal so it gave a nice even surface to lay my hand on, pulled the string, and wha-la! I think using a piece of cardboard or something firm like this over the paper helps distribute the pressure more evenly like closing the book over it did.
Katie Jade (6 months ago)
If you put a hard flat surface on top instead of your hand as you pull, such as a hardback book, you'll get more even pressure and it'll look a bit darker and more uniform.

Just fabulous. I love you and your fresh ideas so. Here, here's sending sunshine in your heart and soul today and always! You are an inspiration and a gift 2 millions of people and thank you for that!

Maybe put a large book over instead of your hand?

you will get better result if you place heavy book on the paper when you pull the string down

What type of ink/paint/etc do you use?
Roberta Stevens (6 months ago)
What kind of ink do you use? I am looking for waterproof.
mrsd712 (6 months ago)
If you keep the string longer and hanging out the bottom of the page... and lay a magazine or book on top of your cover paper it makes it a bit easier to pull the strings out with even pressure ... just a hint I learned from experimenting

Can u use yarn
Lacey Pifer (6 months ago)
Love it, instead of using your hand to press down with, can I suggest using a heavy book or anything solid and straight/flat to achieve most consistent, solid contact of thread to paper?
Crystal Baker (6 months ago)

Oh. My. Gosh. Just watching the first few seconds brought back so many memories. You would not believe me but you are the second person in this world I know that used string and paint to create such beautiful artwork. The last time I saw something similar to this was over 20 years ago when my father came home from work one day and showed my sister and I how to make art by using string, paint, paper. On a folded piece of paper, one my side my dad dipped the string into paint and laid it on one side of the paper, next he folded the paper in half, holding it down and pulled the string. I was so amazed what came about after he unfolded the paper. Thank you for this video!! I will definitely do this !
